I think the melancholy of this project makes it hard for me to enjoy. Adrienne is just... so.... sad. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good bummer summer album from time to time but this is just swimming is sadness in a way I can't really get behind. I'm glad other people are liking it more than I am.
This is my first Kali album and while I wasn't blown away, I also wasn't disappointed. A fun bunch of pop songs for dancing with friends.
While I think the singles are the strongest things represented on here, I still really enjoyed this introspective and light album from Lizzie.
I don't get why everyone is so excited by this group. There is nothing bad on this project, but there is also nothing particularly exciting. I was expecting the excitement of other recent debuts like Last Dinner Party and Geese but instead I found this project just.... okay?
Nothing on this project lives up to the edge promised by its title, but for what it is they do a solid job delivering a fun pop punk project.
A bit better than it is getting credit for. I like a good chunk of this album, but the lows are very very low.
I love the drum and bass but by the time the album is over I found myself getting a bit sick of it
A great debut from an artist I'm looking forward to seeing more of. Hopefully moving forward there will be a bit more variety but for now, this definitely works.
The hate for this artist is overblown. I don't get it. This is a fun collection of songs with some absolute jams mixed in.
A fun collaboration between two wordsmiths that don't take this project too seriously.
A pretty solid release that has some crazy highlights. Bubblegum Dog is a career best for this group. It can get a little dull but the lyrical content is always interesting enough to keep you engaged. I like it more as individual songs than a whole project.
This project has some incredibly high high's but just doesn't hold up on multiple listens for me. I see the love here and am happy others are seeing something here I can't. Still, it is a very fun blend of smooth country and americana with just enough rock flair to have a few songs go harder than you'd think.
Rocks harder that I was expecting based on the singles! This album was a really pleasant surprise for me! Definitely going to have to check out Maggie's other stuff now.
I grew up on Fleetwood Mac and this album has everything on it to scratch that same itch. The songwriting here is her best next to Golden Hour and the rainy day sounds make a beautiful other side to that album's coin. Cardinal and Heart of the Woods are the highlights for me here. Underrated already.
I really wanted to love this project but Norah's vocals on this sound almost strained? I listen to her podcast and she still sings beautifully there. This was so underwhelming :(
It's like Aes and TOBACCO made the ugly ass cover to just DARE you not to like this album. While I do hate the album art, I also think it matches the aesthetic of the music and so... it kinda works? Disgusting illustration aside, the arcade-esque production and gloves off word play here make this whole thing work.
