2018’s Twin Fantasy (Face to Face) is a perfect expression of connection, love, yearning, heartbreak and the living of life through all these emotions in an impossibly personal, human way. Part of what works so well about this album is how it’s brought about by a very niche situation; the grand percentage of people aren’t gay furries who had their heart broken by a trans ex like Will Toledo. The album is very direct in its connection to this situation, nothing is shied away ... read more
Based on the cover and general vibe, you’d assume this would be just a silly little joke band, but I’m happy to report that this only remains true of their appearances.
This 15 minute EP is a tastefully done, very skilful display of funk rock/jazz rock abilities. The four tracks are all wildly fun and entertaining, and also display a lot of technical talent that will be fun to follow as the band releases more music! So far, they’ve mastered the perfect sonics for a band ... read more
I am grossly, horrifically uneducated on this scene and as such should not have my opinions on it respected. But anyway, this was a fascinating listen through! I’ve obviously heard bits and pieces of jazz and jazz influence, but never really sat down and paid attention to a complete jazz record, and what an option to start with. This certainly sounds more in the realm of an experimental, psychedelic jazz effort, even though the two can already go hand in hand to an extent

Shit slaps in the smoothest way possible. It’s the type of calm music to put on late at night or to just generally relax and chill to, which is entirely ... read more
Back to School is not as bad a song as people will make you think, but with that being said this EP is definitely more something I own for a collectors purpose than for the actual music on it; it was a cool second hand cd find
It’s a weird compilation of sounds that have highs and lows. Like it’s pretty well known that Deftones aren’t exactly the greatest live performers of their songs, so the live recordings aren’t the best, but the regular studio songs are still very ... read more
Relistened & Reranked: Is This It
Is This It really doesn’t do anything for me, and I think I’ve been pretending it does for a little bit now. Not much is outright wrong per se, but it’s an album I’d have to decide to love, not one for which I find myself doing naturally. I’m a bit of a sucker for the stereotypical indie distortion sound thanks to my love of Car Seat Headrest’s catalogue, but despite pretty solid vocal performances and fun, energetic ... read more
