UNDERRATED R.E.M. ALBUM. They definitely weren't in their prime here, but some of these songs are incredible. "Leave" has some amazing emotion, "Bittersweet Me" has such a catchy, well executed hook, and "Electrolite" is an amazing closer for the Bill Berry era. The songs that use distortion are like a better Monster. (Whoever gave Peter Buck a distortion pedal needs a Nobel Prize). All of these songs are absolutely beautiful compositions. I forgot how insanely good this was. Catchy, without compromising emotion. The lyrics are super good and the production is great. There's songs everyone knows like Semi Charmed Life and Graduate but then there's also the three track run at the end which is incredible. The Background is super underrated too.

So obviously CSH is very popular on this website so I've seen them mentioned a lot. And honestly this album absolutely lives up to the expectations. The storytelling is great on this album, as well as the instruments and the lofi production.
