Some catchy songs in a holistically unconfident album. Better than most Foo Fighters albums.
This isn't as bad as everyone's saying and I find it very strange why everyone's suddenly annoyed with Peggy considering he's been a troll for nearly a decade now. It's not his best work and he still feels like a far less confident presence but he is an incredibly talented producer and there are some of his best songs on this.
I have no idea where this album is going and this is a very low-key track but it's pretty nice.
This is one of the darkest, miserable and bleak albums I have ever heard. I love it!
By the Time I Get to Pheonix was an album I loved purely for how insane and unlike anything else it sounded, so it goes without saying that I adore this album given that its the same kind of vibe but so much more tight and confident.
For an album so self-important it really has nothing to show but soulless "prestige" sounds and absolutely zero semblance of being down to earth
Maybe I've been listening to too much 100 gecs but shouldn't this have gone harder and louder? Still fucking insane though
Is this album a bit one note, poorly paced, lacking in what feels like should be expected climax moments and generally structured less as an album and more as a playlist to shuffle? Yeah for sure. Are two thirds of the tracklist already some of my most played and love of the year though? Also yes, absolutely
I am a long time fan of Joji's work and truly believe he is a great talent through his various artistic ventures, but what are we doing here man? This sounds like leaving your homework to the last minute. There are some great moments and there's more life and passion here than on smithereens but it shares that album's core problem in that it's a completely directionless mess.
I've had my eye on this band for a while and this single did not disappoint! Invigorating stuff
If you told me after the Off-Season came out that Cole's next album would be nearly two hours and I'd actually enjoy it, I would be very reasonable not to believe you. This is by far his best work though even if I don't want to listen to it again.
I'm sure Fantano rating this a 6 had something to do with this album being underrated. Yes it's weak in comparison to the rest of the discography but it's far from a bad or middle of the road album.
Edit: 45-75
Revisiting after falling in love with getting killed like absolutely everyone right now but I'm not seeing the magic with 3D country. It's better than I remembered it being in 2023, a year where I was absolutely sick of quirky art rock music, but it's still nothing amazing and a tad obnoxious despite Getting Killed being one of my favorite albums of the decade so far.
While The Money Store is definitely my go-to, "ear-candy" Death Grips album, NLDW is probably the most defining project of the groups career
Pure ear candy. If I ever need an album that just scratches that specific itch that good, catchy music does, this is my go to
As a brit, we fucking suck at hip hop. What have we really got to show for ourselves? Little Simz and a few Dizzee Rascal songs? I present my apology because this is just another album on the pile of dog shit that is British hip hop.
I didn't like 3D country when I heard it in 2023 so was very resistant to the Geese hype but fucking lord this album is phenomenal. I bawled my eyes out on my first listen and the album has been on repeat non-stop for me since. One of the most creative, impactful and well-made albums I've heard in a while.
