Maruja - Knocknarea

A Punk-Jazz Fusion, "Knocknarea" shows just how truly fluid Jazz is as a genre. Maruja meshes these two genres together beautifully creating an EP that stands out from a lot other stuff made in 2023. from the sounds of the sax to the eerie strings of the guitar at times, this EP maintains its Punk feel while having a jazzy flair. A good recommendation for anyone trying to dabble in new and different types of genre-bending music.

Kaonashi - The 3 Faces of Beauty: A Violent Misinterpretation of Morgan Montgomery
76

An album dedicated to what seems to be the struggles of Morgan Montgomery, this EP covers real life issues ranging from Black Struggles to the struggles associated with being "In the closet". An interesting twist to tackle these issues with a metal vibe and backdrop, but completely embodies the anger and rage that comes with these issues. While not perfect, this is a hidden gem amongst a growing number of meaningless projects in todays industry.

Kanye West - The College Dropout

The Birth of the best producer to walk the planet, The College Dropout is a hell of a start for an Artist who will turn out to be arguable a top 5 artist all time. Most artists dream of making an album this good, and this was Kanye’s first full project and isn’t even his best. A soulful album with good lyricism and top notch production.

Ruby Da Cherry - tragic love songs to study to [vol. 5]

A decent rock track to start out as Ruby's first solo project. While there are only 4 true songs on this project, they are well produced and have a pretty good flow. Where this project struggles in my opinion is the lyricism and shaky vocals. Still a great project, just wish there was more.

Zilla's Debut is underrated. While not every tracks hit, the tracks that do feel meaningful and well written. The album also features mostly good production from Germ, and the end of the album features 3 songs with deep meaning.
