Such a phenomenal experience man, from start to finish this album’s atmosphere is so consistent and perfect, the writing is genuinely some of the best in hip-hop and PROM/KING is undeniably one of the best hip-hop songs of all time, fantastic art and if you’re trying to get into hip-hop, i highly recommend
I wasn’t going in with high expectations but i still kinda got disappointed, the writing on the first song compared to the rest of the album is levels below and the features for the most part js ruin this thing, if this truly is a retirement album, its definitely not the strongest, though the first and last song along with some others are still good so i would say it is a decent LP
Bright, summery, beautiful. The vocals on this thing are absurdly good, the production and performances are objectively some of the best oat, and its literally the epitome of a movie feeling morning, or nostalgic summer, deserves all the praise bro
I mean its What’s Going On, beautiful vocals and messages all throughout, phenomenal song after phenomenal song, and the instrumental’s perfectly match every other one so well so the album js flows like a 37 minute art piece, crazy
A perfect album with insane storytelling man, the immense amount of impact and imagery this album has is genuinely insane and it has kinda placed itself as one of my favorite concept records oat, plus the instrumentals on this thing are unbelievable dude omg “Dogs” has genuinely left me speechless everytime i have listened to it and you still have “Sheep” and “Pigs” to appreciate on top of that, phenomenal album and imo Pink Floyd’s best work that i ... read more
An insane album with grand ballads that turn sad when you know the context in which they were made, the unfortunate circumstances that took place for this record to come together became some of the saddest things a friend has to go through man, and in turn we got these insane and grandiose records that happen to not only be some of the best in the genre, but in all of music history, perfect album man
An album with mystical and fascinating pop tracks that carry elements of folk and art rock that create a very diverse experience, the album is very thematic carrying themes of shedding trauma, finding yourself emotionally and creating a positive confidence that you can look towards in yourself, its an absolute classic pop album that I recommend pretty highly to be honest
Fuck man its hard, on an enjoyability standpoint this record is not my thing, its hard and brash vocals aren’t bad or anything but are harsh to the ears sometimes, the instrumentals are extremely good though and very layered and impressive, its a hard to rank an LP like this but looking at it from an art standpoint, its extremely well written with themes of mental, physical and environmental deterioration, the instrumentals contribute to the uncontrollable feelings of dread the vocals and ... read more
A fantastic record with some of the best messages Tribe has ever conveyed in their discography, with meanings of oppression, racism and other more intimate problems as well as the passing of the legendary Phife Dawg this album is packed with dense meaning and writing, the production is phenomenal and perfectly complements the rhyming and writing I believe only rivled by their prolific The Low End Theory, and a feature list that is one of the most stacked in all of Hip-Hop. All this coming from ... read more
EASILY their weakest, feel bland and boring and as much as B,R&L was not that creative this takes that to a new level with some of their most stale and boring ideas and tracks, its also bloated which is crazy cause Tribe always had consistent and concise tracklists, yeah man its the only time you will find me bored on a Tribe album
Its a great record but feels like a much less creative and unique album then their other much better ones, as well as having much worse highs then their other legendary works, again still great but could’ve been a little more Tribe coded with more unique fun ideas
I really wish this was better than it is, the project has some of the most non-unique tracks in JPEG’s career making the title almost feel ironic, its cool but the corny ideas and content on this record makes it real hard to listen to it, also switch up the flow bro omg its the same shit damn near every song, yeah anyway this could’ve been a lot better if JPEG’s ego could stop getting in the way, its still good but extremely disappointing
Its solid don’t get me wrong, but for an RnB record, the atmosphere is very inconsistent and stale at times, for the most part the tracks on here are very strong, but the weak ones carry a lot of weight and take me out kinda, still good
Super overhated man, i will say the ideas on the record need a lot more developing, but for a record between these two artists is much more impressive in the rapping and consistency the album operates on, its not like insane or a phenomenal record by any means, but it is much better than i was anticipating from Wiz Khalifa and fucking mgk
Super bland, cloud rap flavored trap that has maybe 5 notable songs across the 27 tracks, probably the most disappointing drop of the year for me, was wishing for a lot more, its pretty mid man
Some of the most unbearable vocals this year, what is the direction for this album? Like you genuinely have west coast hip-hop, club songs, drill songs like, shit is actually confusing, also am i the only one that feels like this album is at MINIMUM 50% AI, unbelievably bad
Just a fantastically consistent record with loud bombastic bangers and Tribe’s unique take on Boom-Bap, great writing and phenomenal flows over these hard hitting beats, and just such great tracks flood this album to the point you barely even get to breathe with how many of their best tracks there are back to back, crazy record
Tribe’s magnem opus, from production that perfected, popularized and damn near invented that Jazz rap sound while also having this weird like underground rap club feel, the writing and rhyming absolutely perfected by Q, Phife and all the fantastic features throughout, and its creates such a fun and smooth atmosphere that makes it so addicting while also being one of the most influential rap records of all time, One of the best instances of a record being as influential as phenomenal at ... read more
A fantastic debut that brings all the elements of Jazz and Soul rap production that they do later on as well, even though its not able to compete with their next 2 projects, the homie, hang-out like atmosphere that all 4 members bring make me really appreciate this one
