I like. First listen was off-putting but now I can't get that chiptune sound out of my head lol.
This thing slaps. If I wanna put a FUN album with no skips, great sing-alongs, and dancey grooves - I'm putting this on. An all-timer for me that brings me back to my undergrad days. Love this album forever. 95
Vampire weekend huh. Weekend guys and gals just hanging out, being vampires.
Fun as hell and has that classic vampire weekend sound while feeling a bit more mature. Bless. I really feel like the strength of this jamboree is the melodies and little riffs that just stick in your cranium for the rest of your days.
Fun songs like "Ice cream piano" and "Mary Boone" will have me coming back, heck even throw in literally every single one of the first 5 songs as well as pravda on ... read more
This thing is so sweet I was surprised by how much I loved it (not that I expected it to be bad, just isn't usually my jam).
It feels very nostalgic for my childhood and past loves. I think it has some really sweet lines for all the lovebirds out there but can feel incredibly relatable in totality. I'm not sure the words I am writing here make sense, but give it a listen. It is very american/folk/country-ish.
Best song to me is "In my room"
I will say more on this when the year ... read more
This thing has STYLE and CHARACTER but for some reason I'm also barely remembering what I just listened to lol. I like it but will only come back to like 2 songs probably. "Dream job" goes crazy tho

At first I didn't understand it. I spent some time trying to understand it actively. Then "MeYou" came on and I realized, oh no I need to let it go and take me on the journey it wants me to go on. All I can say for advice is to drop distractions and just let this thing take you on a trip. Put down your phone, kid. Julia Holter is on. Really digging "spinning", "Materia", and "MeYou". The percussion on "spinning" is just excellent especially the ... read more
Surprised how much I like this. There is a lot to write about here; it is an hour long album, after all. My first impression is that it feels like a natural progression for Bey. I might write more later, but I really liked BlackBiird, 16 carriages, Jolene, Alligator tears, riverdance and ii hands ii heaven
80!
this is awful. it's like everything wrong with pop/hip-hop distilled into one annoying ass song.
this is so weird. It's like trying to take punk and hardcore but sing like a fresh baby boy in the choir. It has the elements of aggression and power in the music but a flowery voice + woh ohhhhhhhh woaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh's. 30 seconds to mars "this is war" kind of sound which isn't terrible it's just a lil confusing with with the punk aesthetic they do in the video. OH YEAH speaking of the video I couldn't help but laugh at the ukelele part lmaooo. Are you serious brother?
It's okay! I think a few songs felt a lil same-y but buy this guy can sing. I can tell a lot of effort and love was put into it. might warm up to it, but that's my feelings atm.
I liked "corner of my eye" and "deep into the night" the most

Man
Adrianne's voice is incredibly mesmerizing. I feel so engulfed by the raw emotion on this album. In a year with some incredible high energy bangers, a few of these intimate albums are just shining a bit brighter for me. Adrianne and I are around the same age and I find myself reflecting on similar parts of life as she is on this album. Sometimes an artist can talk through portions of your own life that you lacked words for. Of course I have not lived her experience, but I have some vague ... read more

Changed it to 90 from 80. This song is really sick sounding with the difference of time signatures and those crazy chords. It has been lodged in my brain as one of the better songs from this year.
Incredible really.
This came out at a time when COVID was running through the world pretty hard. Porter was someone I never listened to as I wasn't into this type of music, but I gave it a passing chance while bored in my room. I'm sure a lot of people will agree who listened when it came out, this album is such a warm hug in a time when we needed it. The album subverts expectations time and time again while still having an incredible structure, theme, and memorable tracks. I love ... read more
man what da hell. Instrumentation is fine I guess, but the widely overdone "they said I wasn't gonna be great look at me now" energy is so played out. She's great still but eh not feeling this.
