Great song. Jpeg’s rapping here is cool and the sample is amazing. 9/10 Can’t wait to see what he’s got upcoming.
Overall decent with a couple of standout tracks like Gumbo Yaya and Health Science. It seems to me of late Westside has been prioritizing quantity over quality as he mentioned in the past making several albums in a single day. Still a good record, but would like to see him revisit certain ideas from some of records such as Hitler wears Hermes 8. Griselda has been lacking recently in my opinion, with Benny doing his own thing and Conway not having a solid release since 2022. Still excited to see ... read more
Balloonerism is Mac Millers 2nd posthumous release and potential AOTY contender. Props to his family for staying true to his art and continuing his legacy. This album took a more acoustic, live sound sonically as opposed to Circles in my opinion, with the idea for the record coming together around the Faces era. I appreciate Mac’s vulnerability here, with themes of drug addiction and depression displayed through his thought provoking and introspective storytelling. The production on this ... read more
Perverts was my introduction to Ethel Cain. Very dark and atmospheric soundscape, definitely a slow listen, not necessarily an easy one. If you’re a fan of drone/ambient you’ll probably find it enjoyable. Very interesting, won’t be returning to it a ton, but still worth listening to.
one of the most influential trap/hip hop albums of all time. I consider it be the best trap album ever and Travis’ magnum opus. The opener is a perfect intro and the album continues the momentum the whole way through, Absolute banger after banger. Its a very enjoyable listen, with tracks like Oh My Dis Side telling us about Travis’s life growing up in the Houston area, and Pornography details his current life as new upcoming artist in an industry ridden with drugs and sex. Maria ... read more
Experimental Industrial Hip-hop at its finest. Peggy’s magnum opus, 0 skips.
Westside Gunn returns with his latest project, 11. Technically, this is the 11th installment of his Hitler Wears Hermès series, which has seen some solid records. The EP clocks in at just 16 minutes in length, and contains a few interludes/skits, with one being dedicated to Westside’s now deceased associate Big Dump. We also hear some spoken word from the frequent Griselda collaborator and Buffalo native Keisha Plum. With the project being so short, he probably could done without ... read more
Tyler’s best album imo. Amazing performance from start to finish. IGORS THEME is one of greatest intros ever. Production is top tier
Holy shit this is one of the most entertaining and engaging hip hop albums I’ve listened to. I put this on originally as back ground music as i had seen it before and thought I’d give it a listen. However, as soon as I started listening, this album instantly peaked my interest. From track to track I couldn’t help but focus and do nothing else except take in the album until i realized I had finished it.
9/10
Madlib is the best producer of all time
