Honestly overhated imo. Really enjoyable and the deluxe singles make it much better. got a few misses but overall decent project with hardcore rage production.

nah this album is so atmospheric and ambient that it truly takes you somewhere else. The fact Peggy made this during his time in Japan while dealing with severe depression is crazy. The record takes this hazy, vaperwave, almost drugged out type of tone, with a couple instrumentals. Oh yeah, can’t forget the moans that are sampled on Porn for Percussion. Over all weird asf but still good, basically all R&B/art pop, so hardly any rapping here aside from a few songs. 9/10
Wow I just rediscovered this scrolling through AOTY and holy shit it still slaps. I will never forget the first time I heard this, all those samples are just insane, I think he used like 33? And of course we can’t forget Todd Edwards impressive vocal performance over those split beats, the song just really comes together super well. Almost reminds me of chaotic beauty type thing considering the sheer amount of samples used, makes me think of Hazard Duty Pay. One of, if not the best Daft ... read more
Really good and slightly overhated. I often see DAMN. criticized for being too commercial, and while I understand, it doesnt take too much away for me personally. Conceptually the album is really creative and takes a little more mainstream approach as opposed to his previous project, To Pimp a Butterfly. 9/10.

Wow what a bizarre album. Even as I’m listening I cant make heads or tails of it lmao. Probably DG’s calmest album sonically. However, does it by no means exclude the choppy vocal samples or glitchy distorted drums and melodies of their previous projects. As the case with most of Death Grips music, I can’t really describe why I enjoy it, I guess it scratches the experimental glitch hop itch in the back of my head.
Literally just 11 but minus the interludes and its actually much better.
Death Grips heaviest record, and their best imo. Basically the equivalent of getting in a high speed car crash while on ketamine. Life changing.
Cryptic, depressing, and heavy hitting, The Powers that B combines Death Grips’ records Ninjas on the Moon and Jenny Death for a 1 hour and 20 minute experimental glitch hop double album. The first half of album incorporates Bjork’s vocals in every song, with each track getting progressively abrasive. Overall this record challenges the genre as a whole, pushing the boundaries of music. By no means do I mean this negatively, never is there a dull moment. Every track is engaging and ... read more
Ethereal cloud rap production that literally couldnt be heard anywhere else at the time. Lucki Eck$ was in his own lane and pioneered early cloud.
Very consistent all the way through. Lucki’s beat selection here is great and stands up as well. As for songwriting, Lucki gets extremely deep and vulnerable, detailing his drug habits and how they affect his relationships, life, and mental health. Honestly a way more darker and serious project than I anticipated. 8/10

This grew on me a great deal. Honestly so underrated. Hot take but this is some of if not kanye’s best production. Also See you in my nightmares deserves much higher than a 73
8.5/10

Wow this project is actually crazy, the beats are wild and come together really well with Lucki’s delivery. Lucki’s older projects tend to be his of his best imo and this is definitely one of if not his best.
Entertaining Experimental Trip Hop with Horrorcore lyrics being rapped by the Hamilton actor π
Wow i was not expecting this. Prior to this album, I had never listened to much of clipping. I had seen this dropped and I decided to give their previous album Visions of Bodies being Burned a listen first, as I had heard great things about it. Dead Channel Sky is such an enjoyable album, never really a dull moment from front to back. Daveed Diggs rapping and flow is quite impressive with experimental trip/hop soundscapes that can’t be found elsewhere. Unique, fun, and thought provoking, ... read more
Boldy’s magnum opus. production here is crazy, the abstract smooth jazz rap is really good even though the production carries slightly imo. Boldy still comes through with some solid song writing that can really be appreciated and great delivery too. over a really good record 8/10
a little on the slow side. I’ve always been a bit critical on boldy’s flow but his bars are pretty good here and conductor does his thing. not super replayable for me still decent tho some good bars and good production. 7.5/10
