i appreciated this album much more once i imagined geordie greep in a big ass suit

don't get me wrong— i love mr. greeps vocals, hell, 'the new sound' is like one of my favorite albums from last year, but listening to it here is obviously jarring for me. nothing hits better than well-written pop songs. this is that type of music that makes you giggle to yourself alone at night; it's cheerfully produced while being catchy and sweet you might even catch diabetes! wow that is not something to giggle about, man. what the fuck

this was a beautiful listen, the way everything's recorded and mixed makes it sound so grand yet so far from our own grasp of it, accompanied by its blazing guitar that could probably be heard from miles away from the show; still echoing in our ears years later; still immortalized.

never thought a noise rock album would get me teary-eyed, weird.
