Strangely disappointed with this one ngl. Sharp Dressed Man is one of my favorite songs and while the rest of the album fit the vibe, it got really stale and repetitive fast. Don't even get me started on the lyrics to most of these songs holy. I usually don't care about lyrics to 80s rock songs (Van Halen is my favorite band), but man some of these songs really left me befuddled.
"There's a devil in my dick and some demons in my semen" - Anthony Kiedis
I didn't even realize Witchcraft ended and Gila Monster started until the chorus. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard strikes again.
Dave should audition for Metallica I think him and James would get along very well together
Was a little harsh on this album now that I think about it, but I'll stand by the fact that if the album ended at "When I Come Around", I would rate it higher as those tracks sound like filler and I feel like they don't really add much aside from extending the album's runtime so it can't be marked as an EP.

Four whole ass cover songs??
Yap Halen comes back around with another installment at the album I last left off at: Diver Down! The album has a sort of rough start with the fact it's a cover, as well as that DLR's vocal performance sounds like he didn't even warm up before recording and said "fuck it that's the take" (probably the real story ngl). After that, the album takes a major turn back to banger city, population: half the album. Every following song is ... read more
Feels more like a remixed version of the first EP with a few new ideas rather than a full on new EP that experiments with something new and pushes the sound the original did so well with. You're constantly hearing parts from the original EP and while it's still cool to hear them in a new arrangement, I think it relies too much on using those sounds and motifs and not doing enough in terms of original ideas. As a diehard fan of the first Pixelize, I can't hate this, but I really ... read more
If Pride and Joy is so good, how come there isn't a second one?
I'm Cryin':
An overall amazing, iconic project that you can tell was their first time experimenting with prog metal. Was it weird to make 2/3s regular kick ass metal and the rest prog? Yes. Does it dampen the experience? Not at all. A bunch of really strong hits here that definitely make this a must listen if you are interested in A7X.
Started listening because of the barn owl, finished because hot damn this album is really good.
A slam dunk most of the way through, definitely one of BMTH's best works. It leaves me wanting more, but I'll take quality over quantity any day of the week.
This is the Freddy vs. Jason of Ice Nine Kills
Fitting that this album is like a horror movie franchise: Some of them are really good and will be considered classics, while the others are the same thing over and over again and doesn't do anything new. I definitely still enjoy it but man has it lost its magic since my first listen (just like how it feels rewatching a horror movie).
