Every song is exactly the same.
Well, not really, but I had to make the joke.
Nine Inch Nails delivers their most commercial-sounding project yet, coming from Trent’s sober era and that’s the main theme here: his triumph over self-destruction… which, unfortunately, makes the music feel way less self-destructive.
The production is cleaner, more restrained, and nowhere near as haunting or punishing as you’d expect. Honestly, it barely sounds like a real Nine Inch Nails ... read more

Extremely boring and repetitive. 21 Savage swims in circles for 30 minutes using the same flow and making the same song over and over again talking about gangs, pussy, cars, and drugs. It's honestly the kind of music Ben Shapiro would use as a setup before making the most racist claim of his entire career.
However Ocean Drive is great
Holy introduction.
After Birthing, I decided to dive into Swans' discography, and many people recommend starting with this project since it encapsulates their early sound while presenting a conceptual album centered around religion and the figure of the preacher, who slowly morphs into a kind of dictator. Michael Gira uses this transformation to question religion and faith, especially focusing on where the limits lie. All of this is wrapped in a no wave and gothic rock sound that could ... read more
The feminist man's 21st-century celebrity crush (myself included).
I thought this project was longer, but in its short runtime it manages to be quite a fun ride with its blend of pop, liquid DnB, and R&B all delivered through a heavy British accent and PinkPantheress’ undeniable charisma. This release was pretty hyped within the community, so I was a bit surprised that there wasn’t a massive banger or a clear standout track. Still, every song here is solid each one puts a ... read more
Unless you’re A$AP Rocky or Bruce Springsteen, putting an American flag on your album cover is basically a guarantee the music will suck.
Benson Boone is easily one of the most overhated artists of this generation and I used to defend him. My ears are constantly wrecked by Lingua Ignota and noise rock, music that’s as stressful as it is brilliant, so sometimes I need something painfully vanilla to reset. Beautiful Things was my go-to detox song after diving into deeply fucked up ... read more
Music for e-girls.
I’ve got way too many reviews pending, so I’ll keep this one short. The album is inconsistent when it’s good, it’s really good, and when it’s not, it’s instantly forgettable. Production-wise, it leans into gothic rock and darkwave, with heavy use of VSTs and samples that give it that modern edge basically tailor-made for e-girls who sip Monster.
The vocals? Spot-on. Addictive, moody, and exactly what you’d expect from a project like ... read more
Hoooolllyyyy Fuuucckkkkkk.
Holy fuck (pun absolutely intended), this album is one of the most fucked up things I’ve ever listened to—and as someone who’s a fan of fucked up things, this one fucked me up.
This record feels like a continuation of All Bitches Die, refining the sound and shifting it toward something more hi-fi while deepening the core idea of using God as a metaphor for abuse specifically, the concept of an oppressive, controlling power you must obey and please ... read more
Nothing could’ve prepared me for this.
This is the first thing I’ve ever heard from Swans and holy shit, I wasn’t expecting this at all. From the opening track, Michael Gira starts to fuck your brain with a kind of experimental rock that heavily recalls Pink Floyd, including songs that easily reach double digits in length.
The songs carry a unique aura of desolation and hopelessness, with lyrics touching on religion and other themes. We start off strong with a 20+ minute ... read more
What happens when you put three revolutionaries and a rock god in a room and ask them to play it safe
Audioslave is one of my favorite bands of all time it’s the perfect collaboration that shouldn’t work but somehow does. Sadly, they’re a one-album wonder, because this second album sounds way more commercial and ditches the chaos of having members from the most revolutionary band teaming up with one of the greatest vocalists in history (I’ll never get over Chris ... read more
The most wasted potential of this generation.
Ty delivers one of his most ambitious projects to date—stacked with features and dabbling in trap, R&B, and pop, all tied together by his gorgeous voice… over some of the most soulless beats I’ve ever heard. And that right there is the core issue.
Ty has always shined more through his hooks than his production choices, which consistently feel stagnant and uninspired. He’s got the voice, the talent, the range but every ... read more
20 Min single handedly saves an otherwise unnecessary deluxe edition and cements itself as one of Uzi’s best tracks to date.
It's one of those rare songs that not only defined an artist’s sound but also managed to define my 2022.
I Luv LUV.
Lil Uzi helped define a huge part of my adolescence, and this was always my favorite project of his. The sheer number of bangers is insane XO Tour Llif3, Neon Guts, UnFazed, The Way Life Goes, Sauce It Up, and 20 Min on the deluxe (which I’ll review separately).
When I was 15, it was easy to overlook how much filler this album has, but nowadays it’s hard to ignore how repetitive Uzi can get at times. Honestly, at least half of the tracks feel like pure filler, which sucks ... read more
The day I’m writing this, the intro track has exactly 666k streams and I hope it stays that way forever.
I’ve had a complicated relationship with Lingua Ignota. Her music is undeniably art, but it’s deeply uncomfortable by design. It’s a sonic exorcism of trauma, built from her literally angelic voice, harsh production, brutal lyrics, and her obsessive use of religious imagery. She uses God not as salvation, but as a metaphor for power, especially abusive power a vehicle ... read more
PNGMAFIA.
Daaaaaaamn, this album is crazy. I've been the number one hater of boom bap, so I had no idea what to expect from this record. I tried listening to Egotrip before and dropped it by the second track knew right away it wasn’t my thing. So when I saw in my feed that a new jazz rap album had just dropped, one destined to be AOTY so far (I listened to it before it hit #1 on the official list, but gave it a couple relistens to really solidify my opinion), I expected it to be ... read more
I cry when angels make terrible music.
Serj is legendary same as SOAD and his unique voice and vocal range helped position them as one of the few nu metal bands that didn’t sound like pure white trash. But this EP is just a bunch of poorly executed ideas. For the first time ever, I actually can’t stand Serj’s voice. The instrumentals are weird, scattered, and try to do way too much at once, and honestly, I can’t find a single good reason why this EP needed to exist.
AYYYYYY AYYYYYYYYY.
BigX is possibly the best thing to come out of Texas rap since Travis Scott with a voice deeper than the Mariana Trench, instrumentals that fuse Texas soul with trap, and addictive flows that hit like a freight train. His debut album is a risky move: no features, and a name that guarantees he’ll never be the first result on Spotify.
The album slaps, but it does get a bit repetitive at times. Still, BigX is a new artist with room to grow, and he’s already been ... read more
