his greatest album. It marks the abandoning of the Trilogy sound that plagued MBDTF. We will never hear of it again. Which I believe is good, it makes his future projects hold up a lot longer because the production sounds so lush and modern. You gotta love kanye's preformance here.
I don't like how kanye returned to his trilogy roots here, 808's had better production than this, this production feels trapped in his time while 808's prospers even today. Some of the beats here are solid but eh.
When hitler and a child rapist collab you end up with dog shit. This is the worst collab since Diddy & R Kelly back in the 2000 song "Satisfy You" and this is not purely because of what these people did. But the music just frankly sucks, it probably would've been a 30, but i just can't look Jay Z in the eye and feel obligated to give this a 0 as a fuck you to such a man
See this is what I like, Kanye is getting more out there with his sound, inspiring a generation of amazing rappers such as Lil Wayne, Juice Wrld, and even Jpegmafia believe it or not. With this album he revolutionized hip-hop, I never liked boombap drums or those samples, I like the 808s of modern, everything before this album feels so outdated now that it's here. thank you kanye for making hip-hop great for the first time
take an 1 hour minute bloatfest like this and you expected something good? Think again, this is kanye's first album ever made, and we can obviously tell. His sound is just AWFUL on this one, why do the samples sound like chipmunk, just give me normal speed samples man! You know after listening to projects like Vultures I & II, plus some tracks off JIK, I expected this to be amazing. But I'm just dissapointed.
Take two of the worst artists and combine them together, what do you get? A pile of dogshit and eggs
I've listened to a lot of bad albums, but this, THIS takes cake. It is an absolutely shallow project with NO production, no lyricism, just pure and utter noise. This guy just tries to hard to be different. And that is the end of my JPEGMAFIA discog dive.
perhaps a little TOO experimental. Have u ever tried investing in longer but less, talk about quantity over quality
When a shitty niche overrated "experimental" avant rapper attempts to try something new and surfs the waves of the Nu-Metal genre, this is the result. Just take away this guys distrokid subscription atp
Gorillaz debut and self titled album is a bad introductory to the uncreative and ear bleeding sound of Gorillaz. This is the most rock-sounding album of the Gorillaz catalogue, with a blur (my least favourite band) influence as Gorillaz hasn't fully fleshed out there sound yet.
Which is why it's a bad album. It starts weak with Re-Hash, 5/4 and Tommorow Comes Today. Re-Hash has this shitty bassline and acoustic guitar chords, it's a bad intro track.

For a debut album, they didn't get down their sound at all, and stayed inconsistent with it, this is an awful debut.
This is a totally samey sound that people try to dupilcate but were always better than RAGE, and their self titled album introduced that. Killing in the Name is their most famous song ever, I don't even think it's the worst on this album, I'd say Bombtrack is, and it's not their best single. Underrated, yes, still pretty bad

I actually dislike this a lot and have more to say about it, Soulja's Story and Brenda's Got a Baby are incredible tracks for a debut, and Part Time Mutha is my least favourite track and is super overrated, bad closer.
I know how to review this in detail, it just means nothing to me and is really lame
This album is fun as fuck, an underrated piece with amazing mixing, you can hear the vocals, it is completely in the instrumentals, which are remarkable themselves. A fun piece of art, i don't understand the hate at all, it's just bladee but better, and I even like bladee so that says a lot
Og Rating: 100
New Rating: 99, still good but I bumped it down cuz kelly kelly was pretty mid
