The hits HIT but there's a lot of sleepy filler on here.
BEST: House Tour, When Did You Get Hot?
Worst: We Almost Broke Up Again Last Night, Never Getting Laid
I picked this up on a whim from my local record store without listening first and I'm so glad I did! No skip album.
This might be my favourite album of the year. I heard about it from a random Instagram reel that recommended it, and I'm so glad I listened! This album is produced so incredibly well, it's super energetic, upbeat and catchy.
I had such high expectations for this... I couldn't be more disappointed. The lyrics are clunky and unrelatable at best and straight-up vulgar at worst. Cancelled was the highlight for me (although this might be because it sounds like Yellow Flicker Beat by Lorde, and has feminist undertones). Songs like Eldest Daughter and Wood sound great but have BAD lyrics, while the rest of the album is full of filler like Opalite, Honey and Wish List.
This album makes you appreciate life more. It helps you see the light. I feel revitalized after listening to this, and album so honest and yet positive. It's an album that feels like sunshine.
This compilation was a glimmer of hope in a stagnant dubstep scene. I miss this!!!

In my opinion this feels more like a compilation of singles than a cohesive album, which is a common issue in EDM music (Black Ice was on Subtronics' recent album too😬). I love REZZ's style but unfortunately some of the songs fall flat for me, although there are also some standouts! Not sure why she promoted this as being super dark and heavy compared to her previous work because I found it was about the same.
Favs: OPEN YOUR EYE, DYSPHORIA
Least-favs: CUT ME OUT, Maleficent
Ariana's sleepiest album to date. Got bored halfway through. The songs are produced well but they are nowhere near the level of her older songs like "no tears left to cry" or "thank u next". I was disappointed.
Highlights: SMSOU, Get Off of the Internet
Most of the cuts off this were pretty stale/safe based on what we've seen from Nate in the past 5 years, but there are some standouts where Nate manages to keep it relatively fresh while maintaining his signature sound. Disciple is missing out by not being the one to release this, it's produced well.
Love the cover art, hate the album. It's just bland and generic. Was hoping to finally have a Canadian pop icon with the rebranding for this album teased. Instead, we get 10 washed-out basic sad songs with a couple of mediocre fun pop cuts. Imagine if Tate went full early 2000s-inspired pop with her dancing talents.
Help why is White Glove rated so poorly? It's my favourite ðŸ˜
God's Game gives the same vibes as a lot of EDM music I've heard and loved.
This project isn't perfect and leans to the more generic side sometimes, but I do feel like I understand her vision and can appreciate it. White Glove, God's Game, and Lethal Woman are all edgy pop paradise. I'm impressed by this, compared to Dove's previous work.
I feel like it's unfair to rank this album so poorly. I saw Brad's video ranking this as one of the worst albums of 2023 which I guess makes sense since he just hates alt-pop but just BFFR. It's really not *that* bad. I know I'm extremely biased since I've been a fan of Melanie for years but the sweeping generalizations about her fans being insane are just hurtful. This is her worst album, and at this point, I wish I didn't enjoy it but I can't help it. I don't support her as a person anymore, ... read more
I always loved Taylor growing up but for some reason, I didn't even know this album existed at the time. With the rerelease, this is the first full listen I'm giving to this album, and it's amazing. A beautiful blend of country, pop, and rock. The kind of music that isn't made anymore. The songs from the original album are much more standout, however, than the vault tracks.

I really like Mentally Not Here and Sleep Paralysis, but the rest isn't noteworthy for me. Elita is trying a different vibe with this album and it's just not as up my alley.
This is probably the most beautiful thing I'll ever listen to, sonically and lyrically.
