This is just an all around crazy and eclectic album that might be my favorite from Bowie. Some of the songs sound kind of weak but I oddly like them anyway if that makes sense. Chant of the Ever Circling Skeletal Family is a fun ending even if the repeating part at the end is a dull ending. Diamond Dogs's voice through a fan sound goes crazy and is as good a song as Rebel Rebel. We Are The Dead is the worst song here but still not bad.
First two songs are really great. It falls off slightly after that, but songs like Heavy Balloon and Cosmonauts are good individually. For Her is harrowing and a great multipart song. On I Go, Drumset, Newspaper, and Ladies however don't do too much for me sadly. There's no bad songs, but some are definitely better than others. Also can't forget the anthemic Relay which is a great highlight.
I don't really see what people see in this album. I like Paper Bag, but the rest of the songs just feel like Beatlesque experiments. None of the songs are bad but not many of them stand out either.
In theory, if the songs weren't so LOUD then super quiet I would like the album way more. If I try to ignore that I'm listening at a high volume, I can like the songs for what they are. I can appreciate how it's challenging to listen to but sometimes i dont want a challenge, and to just enjoy the music. Closer, however, has no such problem and is actually really great. So is Hurt.
None of the songs live up to Kill V. Maim, but they're all pretty good anyway. Scream is a weird but fun detour. This version Realiti is worse than the demo, but still fine. Butterfly is great, and the guitar on Artangels is earcandy. Cool album
Pretty good album. Has some filler songs, and there's no super standout tracks. I like Post Malone on Levii's Jeans. Tyrant is kind of a banger. Alliigator Tears is a nice soft song. Ya Ya isn't an amazing song but I like the combo of the Beach Boys with Nancy Sinatra. Looking forward to the next one
First half is great but I guess I'm just not a big fan of ambient music because the second half is just okay to me. The first few songs sound like they exist in a world of their own. They're not amazing, but they're certainly mystical and sound perfectly crafted if that even makes sense.
Really sweet and ethereal song. I like the eerie train and dog barking at the end which creates a really cool mysterious vibe.
Really good cover of the song. I like the part where the vocals go underwater which is then juxtaposed by the clear "do do do" right after. Lorde's dry vocals match the music well. nice
It's an iconic song, but obviously because of how irritatingly catchy it is. there's some fun in making fun of it i guess, but even that aspect of the song feels contrived. it's just bad marketable baby music. who cares. idk
It's John Lennon/Yoko Ono's obligatory christmas song, and it's fine. The lyrics sound important. The chorus is okay. good job to them both
the production is silly. haha. the "happy" part feels like a dumb carnival ride. idk that's about it i guess
Haha he has a detachable penis I guess ! It's a funny, unique, and weirdly believable song. The guitar in the background makes it feel like it's some kind of important issue. It's a dumbass creative gimmick song
It's a fun gimmick song with questionable and dumb lyrics. It's fine I guess.
Kind of generic and bland, but it's fine in the middle of a saddish playlist.
Maybe the best song by Janelle Monae I've heard so far. It beats anything on the debut which I'm not to crazy for. Just a really fun overall song.
The song is pretty fun when you are happy like the title, but if you are not in its titular mood it can kind of piss you off. Sonically its alright. There's nothing really bad about it--the hand claps make sense, and so do the backing vocals--it just that it feels like it's forcing you a bit too hard to be happy, and that it's not too interesting.
