Man what a crazy good pop album. Headphones On is actually the best pop song of last years its incredible. I feel like I have heard most of these songs (because I had) so not a lot was new, but my favorite non single was TImes Like These. I hope her next project is a bit more vulnerable in writing. I feel like songs like Diet Pepsi falter due to weak writing; she's a far more successful songwriter when she speaks on more personal topics.
Incredible Album. It's hard to believe that I went my whole life without listening, but I truly did love this. Very excited to listen to more Beatles after this
I’m so sad that I pushed this off for so long because I absolutely loved it. “Bleeds” by Wednesday manages a perfect blend of light and heavy, with some songs toeing the line. It feels like, for every hard hitting song, there’s something to unwind to, yet both are so lyrically dense that they function the same. Karly has an incredible voice and I absolutely adore her writing style. It’s just so musty, adding this layer of relation even if you have no connection to ... read more
This has been a long time coming. Since this album came out, I have adored “Touching Yourself,” having it on heavy repeat for the past two years. Even though I heard good things about this project as a whole, I just never put aside time to listen to it until now. Overall, I really enjoyed it. It may have not reached the standard I set for it due to my love for “Touching Yourself,” but I still believe that this album is incredibly strong. The three song run from Indexical ... read more
Kind of half listened, didn't really love. There were some good ideas, I just think that everything gets so repetitive around half way through. It doesn't help that, because of the language barrier, there were no lyrics to cling onto which could have spiced the record up. Skipped the last few songs so I don't feel comfortable giving this a number rating.
Need to relisten! I did not finish the first time but I remember adoring this. Incredible soundscapes with impeccable lyricism. Everything on here sounds like it could have been a classic folk tune passed down through generations, just with topical themes for the 80s.
Such a fun listen. Some songs are iffier than others for me, but overall I just get really happy listening to this (even with the sad lyrical themes). Really great time, rest in peace Jimmy Cliff.
oh my GOD this is good
I had heard so much buzz about this album but had neglected to listen until the day before I saw them open for Geese and I was hooked. I've heard a lot of people calling this a BCNR ripoff and although I can kind of get it, I get way more influence from Bon Iver then I do BCNR. Of course, living in the shadow of such an incredible band makes this an album that, on release, had so much to live up to, yet I think they really succeeded and exceeded. I think that the ... read more
So incredibly good.
To be frank, I hated Glaive for years. I was so incredibly deep in the hyperpop scene, yet nothing that Glaive made ever stuck with me. I honestly think it was his smiley voice, he always sounded too happy. Anyways, I got off the hate train when "May It Never Falter" came out. Almost every song on that album just worked for me and I ended up having it on repeat throughout the whole year. This made me incredibly excited for Glaive's new album ... read more

Absolutely incredible. This has definitely been one of my favorites from club so far. I had wanted to listen to this for the past couple of years, but I had never gotten around to it. The instrumentation is so tight, D'Angelo has an incredible voice, and the album is just put together so well. I think it'll have the same effect on me as Magnolia Electric Co. in the sense that I loved it but don't end up going back that often, primarily due to the lengths ... read more

This one really did not do it for me. It's hard to put my figure on it, but I really think that it comes down to the dramatic nature. Every song on here sounds like it was made for a really intense trailer. It feels like it's trying to be grand but I just can't connect to it the way it wants me to. Both have incredible voices and the music itself is not poorly made or anything, it just doesn't do it for me sadly. Glad that other people can see what I ... read more

First screamo album! I really enjoyed how this kind of pushed me out of my box. I've always been threatened by screamo, but this album honestly was a great introduction. I really enjoyed not only the vocals but just how passionate they were. I definitely preferred the more emo passages, but the hardcore stuff was cool too, if not a bit repetitive. I think that's my biggest problem with this album, it's just long. I don't blame it at all, it is a ... read more

I listened to this one like a month and a half ago so I don't really remember a lot but I recall having a good time. This was my first project from Frost Children (I had really only heard them on Mona Lisa by Porter Robinson) and I definitely was not disappointed. My only issue with this album is that it didn't really stick with me, but like most ALC albums, I had a more passive listening experience than the way I usually digest new music. Still really really ... read more

Wowww this thing is good. I had never heard of Tacoma Radar until we were told to listen to it for a club, but I ended up loving it. The vocals are sweet, the songwriting is sometimes heartbreaking, and the whole thing has an incredibly consistent atmosphere. Weirdly enough, this brought me back to my Twee Pop phase? It really reminds me of Happiness Digest by The Maybellines, which I adore. I listened to this on the main field of my campus in the dark and it was such ... read more
okay i've lowkey been too busy sulking over college and watching twin peaks to remember to actually review stuff but i listened to this one a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. its chill and laid back like most Earl project, but his flow is not always my favorite. the production is super nice and Earl sounds really good on a lot of these songs, even if he does have that kind of sleepy attitude to him sometimes. honestly i've listened to so many songs off this over and over these ... read more
Dijon, one of my favorite artists of all time, has returned with a project that not only flips expectations on their head, but surpasses them. Baby is a strange album all around. From the experimental and loud production to the random samples appearing out of seemingly nowhere, there is a lot going on. Even though Dijon’s previous album, Absolutely, had similar elements, I feel as if they were toned down in comparison to just how wild some of these tracks can get. Luckily, Dijon has ... read more
There is not a lot to say about this album that has not been said already. Let God Sort Em Out is not only one of the best Hip-Hop albums of the year, but pretty easily one of the best records of this decade.
I went into this decently blind. I had heard Ace Trumpets and had listened to So Be It a lot, but I tried to steer clear of listening to any other songs before jumping into the album as a whole. Of course, because I am who I am, this was a month later than I probably should have. Despite ... read more
sooooo pretty. not as good as green bottle or planet song in my opinion but I think if I give it more listens it can get up there!
Magnolia Electric Co., despite sometimes vague lyrics, is an outstandingly beautiful record.
I had not heard of Jason Molina until most likely sometime last year, when I first started getting into MJ Lenderman. When looking for other artists in a similar vein to Lenderman, Molina’s name appeared time and time again, not as a peer, but as the blueprint. Fast forward to now, I had really gotten into Just Be Simple (shout of DJ X). Although it did not click with me at first, it has slowly ... read more
This was my first full Jim Legxacy project and I am absolutely not disappointed. I was first introduced to Jim a few months ago, both from hearing about Father on this very app and my Spotify DJ playing it, in which I instantly fell in love. Father is an absolutely infectious track which I have replayed dozens of times since that first listen. I also listened to Stick, which I also loved even if not to the exact same degree. Since those singles, I have passively waited for this project, excited ... read more
