Thank you @dungrabbit for the recommendation (even if I was going to listen anyway)!
Unfortunately I'm not really a big fan of ambient music, and this was very much ambient throughout. I think for an ambient LP this was fine, and sort of met my low expectations for enjoyment of ambient music. One problem I have with this album is just that I feel that many songs are too long (even if that is probably due to it being ambient), which led to something that sounded fine just slowly droning ... read more
I don’t know anything about this album, other than that track 17 sampled that one song used in montages from 2017 and Timber on track 57 and One Kiss on track 70. I don’t know what it’s about, how I found it, or what the fuck was happening in most of those tracks. What I do know is that I think I liked it quite a lot.
I’ve never listened to an album on Bandcamp before, mainly because I thought you always had to pay for stuff on there, but apparently this was free. The ... read more
Thank you to @calibretto for this recommendation!
Sorry to you and to me that it took so long to get round to, because this was amazing! Immediately with 'Why?' I was intrigued, with a song that I can only describe as bubbly, which I don't think I've ever described any music as before. And I think that's sort of the theme of this project; the production on here was so upbeat and fun in that same sort of bubbly and colourful way, which helped to bring so much life to ... read more
thank you to @roadt for the recommendation!
well this was something i guess. i was immediately worried by the low user score, and it is not wrong in any way unfortunately. the delivery on this project was awful in 7/8 of the tracks, though to Xeno Ray JNB's credit he managed to do it on the only song with particularly good production 'waySIDE story' to make a song that i would actually replay.
immediately after that highlight however, there is a song that I genuinely laughed ... read more
thank you to @sircomprophet (paul) for the recommendation!
this is the first album by an artist that I have ended up enjoying quite a bit over the past year or so: Totojira. Over time I think Totojira's production has clearly improve since this starting point, with these beats being so much less luscious than what he has crafted since, and they have gained more and more of a lo-fi aesthetic it seems, since you could even say there are slight elements of trap within the first couple. ... read more
Seeing a posthumous Mac feature in the hands of Thundercat was always going to be amazing. I love how funky and jazzy this production was, and Mac’s delivery was just perfect for this sound. Almost like some Divine Feminine shit.
Was Denzel even on this? I literally only heard him say a couple words during Ferg's verse. I mean it's just decent again unfortunately as I expected, it's some mediocre hip hop artists over a decent trap beat. Luckily Ferg carried with a far cleaner sounding verse even if his flow just sounds like something I've heard far too many times
I played this to my plants, but I don't know if they liked it. I also realised too late that it wouldn't have done anything anyway, because they weren't even alive, so it couldn't have helped them grow.
Well at least I can say I have tried some of this super heavy type metal, but to me it is pretty much unlistenable. I will never understand the appeal of having someone scream about dying in your ear, as no matter what they are saying I cannot fathom how this is enjoyable. This is just terrible music in my opinion unfortunately.
I really just cannot see anything special about this project. Sure Brent has a nice voice, and the production is always doing a good job of creating an intimate atmosphere throughout the LP, but the tracks end up just blending together simply due to them being too similar to each other and just not original. I’ve heard all these kinds of things before, just done fat better unfortunately.

Definitely a great start to the album. Industrial-esque styles are something I am very into, and I think this did a solid job of having that sort of abrasive soundscape without being messy or too overpowering of any meaning. At times it felt almost like a sort of crazy trap beat, though maybe I’m the one going crazy with that thought.

Unfortunately this was sort of just the opposite of all the positives that I pointed out about ... read more
Amazing. J Cole steps up his level further than he ever has before, combining his incredible lyricism with beats that bring intrigue to his sound, and with some of his most diverse vocals helping to keep me engaged for the best part of this 100 minute behemoth of a project. Cole shine’s at his best on a significant number of tracks on this album in a way that he has never managed on his past releases at such a consistent rate. If only Cole had been able to perform at this level more ... read more
Never before have I gone into an album knowing with 100% certainty that I was going to give it a 100. Over the past year, By Storm - formerly Injury Reserve - have been teasing their first full album without Stepa Groggs (I will never get over how cool of a name that was) after his tragic death half a decade ago. In 2025 they released 3 singles that, to me, were nothing short of phenomenal, and despite being so incredible they all manage to grow on me. Earlier this month they released their ... read more
The first track, ‘Solar’, is definitely the far superior track to me (I’d give it ~80 on its own), with a more engaging vocal performance and production, and it felt less repetitive especially in the production aspect, which made it far more enjoyable to me.
Mythical feature list on here. I love the vibes on almost every track, definitely exceeded my expectations. If only the incredible quality from the start was present throughout the tracklist, even if it didn’t drop too much, this still could’ve been truly special.
Denzel saves what is, as I expected, a very average song outside of his verse. Neither of bk or lazer dim are particularly strong artists, and unsurprisingly didn’t deliver very strongly on here. The chorus is pretty annoying by the end, and without Denzel this would have been a bit of a train wreck. Luckily he has a pretty long verse, and is able to bring this song up to where I enjoyed it at least a decent bit.
yes i found this song through fifa because i heard danny brown’s voice, it’s so peak
I think i found my perfect sentence to describe this album: ‘so strange and almost horrifying yet still beautiful in its own twisted way’
shit that sounds like MBDTF at the end
Genuinely one of the best projects I have ever heard. A short 33 minutes of ethereal dream pop, shoegaze, and space rock, made by a relatively unknown Japanese band, showcasing everything that I love about music. The ability to craft something so spectacular and well thought out that you come out of it almost like a different person. If I had to recommend any one album to someone that I’d never met before, this could very well be it, I just think it is that incredible that it could be ... read more
