Disgraceful blasphemy, the ratings for this album are. Marvin didn’t deserve this kind of disrespect. What a pure, genuine, piece of true art
These ratings demonstrate a SERIOUS lack of knowledge of funk and R&B. The performance given on this record by the man known as Mr. Soul Brotha No. 1, AKA The Minister of the New New Super Heavy Funk, AKA The Godfather of Soul…. Was and STILL IS REVOLUTIONARY.
“Baby I’m just a man
Doing the best I can”
Unbelievable that this is a live performance. The tightest thing I’ve ever heard
Love it when people overhype a mediocre album simply because of the message it’s trying to convey. I’m also not that high on the whole anti hippie and anti establishment thing Zappa was going for. Personally, that centrist sentiment doesn’t exactly give me new insight, moreso just makes me think Zappa was too stuck up his own ass to concede and join a side.
