I wish I was a runner because I think this would be a great album to run to. It's Lana and Caroline Polachek. Poppy, electronic, overall a good time.
a lot of great jazz elements that got me excited! hearing this live would heal me. Very Erykah Badu.
Short and pleasant - not all the songs were personal favorites but Nomad felt really special.
At first I thought this was more indie Djo (which honestly, isn't completely untrue), but it became a stronger album as it continued. A lot of really pretty tunes.
THIS is what i've been waiting for! Amber Mark has one of those voices that scratches an itch in my brain, and she uses it to make good music, thank god. I also feel like I've heard a lot of albums this year where all of the songs on the album feel the same, so it's a relief to hear someone who brings more variety from song to song.
Cherry Reds has that Labo Siffre chord progression, and combined with her sweet lyricism - it's going to be on repeat for me all spring.
Some twang, some rock, some indie folk. Nothing bad, but only a few special songs. Still pleasant!
I love Ari Lennox, HOWEVER, I don't love this trend I'm seeing in artists of trying to stay tiktok-able or extra marketable by using current slang and buzzwords. It's one thing for an artist to make music relevant and reflective of the times, adding some kind of commentary, but hearing a smooth r&b record with gorgeous vocals include references to chatgpt and "soft girl era" for no other purpose feels a little kitschy. This album would be good for a girl group ... read more
Here's the thing - all the components are there! But to me, it's giving bruno mars. Which is great in that it's catchy and well produced and uses its 70s influence effectively. However, I think, like Bruno Mars, it lacks a little bit of the depth and soul that made the music from their infuences not only catchy, but long lasting.
A lot of really pretty songs here! I think I started to like the album more as it progressed - definitely going to give it another listen.
not bad but not great, or maybe just not for me. it's like a more vibey role model.
good but a little boring? I think Bruno knows how to make a hit, but it's almost always a little too commercial and shallow for my taste. still a fun listen tho!
I don't like this? I can't even name what I dont like about this? instrumental/production feels cheesey and I personally don't like this droning kind of singing. Seems like it draws a lot of inspo from Kid Cudi but doesn't land that quality. Yet! Always room to grow.
I heard someone describe this album as "muted" and I think that's a perfect description.
It's hard for me not to like an album like this - albums that sound like an open meadow in spring.
I'm a big fan of Willow and I love that she seems to have such a strong sense of her artistry. Great collabs.
gorgeous, what a vibe. Great production, love the instrumentation used. I need to listen to this through noise cancelling headphones.
I've listened to a few other tracks from Madison McFerrin and LOVED those so I expected to really love this album and didn't? Not sure why this album just isn't doing it for me - I guess I just prefer her for bass-y soul-y vibes.
Quick shoutout to Midnight - very Moses Sumney!
