Poco - Crazy Eyes

this is so "America" (the band not the county, except actually yes, also kind of like the country) but more folky/country

Momoko Gill - Momoko

This is almost perfect?? It's vocals, contemporary jazz, lyricism. Maybe this is a perfect 100? I need to listen again and then again and then again.

Charli xcx - Wuthering Heights

Some of the tracks really made my lil ol heart swell, prob more than the movie did LOL

ROSALÍA - LUX

Oh my god? Vocals! Instrumentation! This is gorgeous.

Louis Tomlinson - How Did I Get Here?

Y'all. I'm sorry. But wow this isn't great. I was halfway through the album when I started looking through the reviews on here and was shocked by all the rave reviews? It's not the worst thing I've ever listed to, but it's just kind of flat. I feel like a lot of music right now feels almost AI generated. Like some producers just decided to follow an exact formula to create songs they think will play on the radio or Tiktok or whatever. The worst part is, it's ... read more

Melody's Echo Chamber - Unclouded

This was really gorgeous! I had a few bum albums these last few days so this was a breath of fresh air. Would love to see this live.

Smerz - Big city life

Not all of this is for me, but there were definitely a few stand outs songs (the more dreamy-pop >> dreamy electronic). Norwegian for sure

Jake Scott - Same Room

Not great, honestly. It's not awful, it just feels like the kind of songs they would give a disney channel star who's letting out their first album. Or a christian artist maybe. If you like either of those genres, this would be great for you!

Peggy Gou - I Hear You

Really fun album for the raver/edm badies

Vanita Leo - Cumbiamante

Gorgeous voice! Just not a fan of cumbia personally

Black Moth Super Rainbow - Soft New Magic Dream

I get why people would like this group, I just think I didn't like the mod on the vocals. Good for people who are fans of Tame Impala because of the more psychedelic elements

Lyn Lapid - BUZZKILL

This is like if Lizzy McAlpine made happier music haha

Samm Henshaw - It Could Be Worse

This was really close to being my first 5 star album of the year. I still might upon relisten. I LOVED this, what a pleasure!

Dove Ellis - Blizzard

Yessssss! Yes yes yes! This is great! Gorgeous vocals, i loved the stripped down production - I don’t think there’s really anything I don’t like about this album :-)

Arm's Length - Never Before Seen, Never Again Found

I went into this album and artist blind and didn’t realize they’re an emo band, so I was definitely thrown off a little (I thought they were an indie band for some reason?). And had I listened to this when I was in my own emo phase, I’m sure this would have really hit. I applaud any artist that can use their music to talk about hard feelings in such a candid way. Sadness doesn’t just come from break ups @ pop music! However, I rate to my own personal taste and this sound ... read more

Sophie Castillo - Like A Star

I’m a little disappointed tbh :-/ I was seeing a lot of great reviews and maybe this just isn’t for me? I feel like the new wave of pop right now is a little over-sexualized or something which I guess is fine but it’s a little boring? A lot of beautiful women singing in hushed tones about wanting someone can be fun but I think I’m just a little over it. At least give me variety and fun. I think people want to bring back Y2K Sexiness but they’re missing the ... read more

A$AP Rocky - Don't Be Dumb

The first half of this wasn’t for me tbh. I’ve never really listened to ASAP, so I don’t have much to compare it to. However! Brent Faiyaz stepped in. Then Playa hit. Then the rest of the album’s collabs really got me. I love more melodic tracks and I really liked when he got into them, especially the jazzy Doechii track.

Cornelia Murr - Run to the Center
70

I mean, I just love Cornelia Murr. It's a soft and sweet album. I love the warmth of her voice, I think this is a great album to fall asleep to (complimentary)

Cleo Reed - Cuntry
80

Wowee this was such a great way to end the first month of album a day! Cleo Reed needs no genre to define them, and I hope they never do. Had something for everyone, but still felt like there was some magic invisible common thread connecting each song to the next. Production was gorgeous and their ability to make difficult themes (ie our distressing political landscape) so palatable is truly a gift.

Jaydi Zavala - Cool Girl
50

Here’s the thing - I don’t even think this album is awful, I just dont think it’s good. I don’t love Zavala’s voice so much, or maybe I don’t think these songs highlight it? fidgety felt like a fake pop song in a movie with a fake pop star. And I do think there’s an audience for that! It’s just not for me unfortunately
