Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory (98/100 (97.916))
Papercut - 100
Its a perfect song. Its the perfect introduction to Linkin Park it demonstrates the impact of their music, both Mike's rapping and Chesters screaming vocals while also demonstrating Chesters softer singing with the final chorus ("the sun goes down / I feel the light betray me") which is arguably the best part of the song. The song is instantly replayable.

The more melodic tracks featured on this album make it much easier to listen to than their 3 previous albums. There are consistently good songs on this album which all hit hard.

I relistened to this and some of it is a bit better than I thought last time. I still don't really like the vocals on most of the track tbh, it's just a bit too scratchy and sometimes unintelligible. The melodies and instrumentals of the songs are actually quite enjoyable most of the time but the vocals really do bring this down a bit compared to the vocals from later albums which I'm more used to. Overall, there are a few grievances I have with the album and some of the songs I ... read more
I thought I'd come back and rereview some of these older bmth albums since I haven't listened to them in a while. I still don't like a lot of the songs on here. Tracks 5,6,7 are really hard to listen to for some reason, they just don't click with me at all. I'm surprised that I am now rating this album lower than "Count Your Blessings" since I initially preferred this album by a long shot. Overall, I don't like this album, the vocals are really harsh to ... read more
I thought I'd come back and rereview this as I started to like "Pray for Plagues". I didn't properly review it last time and just wrote it off after skipping through most of the songs. I still really don't like these sorts of vocals but for some reason I really like "Pray for Plagues" it's just a shame that whatever magic is there in that song doesn't continue throughout the rest of the album. The vocals on all of the songs here are pretty harsh to ... read more
Dax - I'll Say It For You (81/100 (80.714))
I Can't Breathe - 80
I love the guitar on this song, the whole beat is incredible. Dax talks about his loneliness and his problems with alcohol and feeling like he has no one to reach out to that would genuinely help him without criticism. It is an incredible song that tackles his mental health problems and concerns regarding his faith. While I am not religious I can certainly understand his pain through this song.

This OST is simply incredible, it's my go to whenever I go for a walk or for when I need to get some work done. There's just so much beauty in all of the tracks. There's something enjoyable about basically every single track.

Track is great. The beat is the best part of the song, I love the violin in the background. Everyone has a good flow which works well with the song. Mike's rapping is great. The chorus is good.
Right Now - 85
Gives me "In The End" vibes with the piano in the background (which is a banger of course). This track is very cool lyrically, it kinda makes me reflect on life and makes me grateful for ... read more
Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory EP (67/100)
Carousel - 90
Mike's rapping is so tight. This song hits pretty close to home so I feel a connection to the lyrics. Chesters are great but feel slightly disjointed from the rest of the song. Despite this, I still listen to it all the time

My December - 100
A more introspective song near the end of the album. This song is truly beautiful. Chesters singing is really peaceful, and Mike's quiet rapping really adds a layer to the song. The chorus is really elegant and is ultimately calming and reflective. (It actually helps me sleep sometimes)

One piano key throughout the whole song, super repetitive and annoying
