Extremely high highs here, and honestly even the lows aren't too low. Very fun from start to finish.
These newer Swancore bands don't really push the proverbial 'needle' in terms of sound, but honestly I'm starting to realize I'm totally fine with that. Love the sound these guys have and I'll definitely be checking out more.
Having almost every song transition immediately into the next one is a fun concept for a pop-punk album, even if manages to sometimes highlight the lack of differences from track to track.
I will acknowledge that this score was extremely biased by me listening to this cruising down the highway at midnight, but MAN was that one groovin' car ride.
Definitely some fun tracks on here, but when compared against newer bands that have taken inspiration from this band's original work it falls a little flat.
We finally have a longer piece of work from these guys that doesn't feel like 5 variations of the same song, and WOW does it make a difference. Even at 25 minutes this still feels like a complete and diverse breath of fresh air from the band.
Put the first song on and immediately went "hell yeah". Several hell yeahs later I can say this is some good shit.
This album has so many different pop sub-genres mashed together in such a cohesive manner that it turns an otherwise "palatable" or "safe" genre into something completely unique and refreshing. Show this to anyone who tells you that pop is "too generic".
Don't get me wrong I love "loudness goes brrr" metalcore but its also something that can quickly lose its luster, and I feel like that's the case here sadly.
Very humble and endearing. Mitski has a very unique way of using the occasional off-putting lyric to create these shockingly emotional moments across many of the songs here, which lead to a very entertaining first listen. Excited to check this out more.
Everything about this feels like I'm at a rave from a time when I was too young to go to said raves. Love it.
It's not as quirky as some of his previous stuff that I'm a fan of, but DAMN does this shit hit regardless. Extremely good showcase of what he is capable of and I hope this starts to give him the popularity he deserves.
84 -> 88 Ok yeah this fucks.
It's always a fun experience when my brain goes "man wtf is going on" while I'm listening to something, and then when it's done all I can think is "neat, let's do that again".
Despite never really being a fan, I still feel pretty confident in saying "They still got it" 30 years later (even if "it" hasn't always been for me).
Very fun listen. It can definitely be a bit cliche at times, but then again that's most of pop-punk as a whole so it's tough to really knock it for being what it's supposed to.
