ITS THE YEAR OF THE MOTH BABY- oh, wait wrong band sorry.
Really though this is a stellar alt-pop album. Great production and hooks paired with some very personal and vulnerable lyrics from Mothica make for a very filling and enjoyable listening experience. I know there's a lot of big releases today in the alt/indie scene but I whole-heartedly recommend checking this out if you have the time.
Man I just love the sound these guys bring when it comes to DnB. Doesn't push any musical boundaries or present anything that hasn't been heard before, but it's still a really good batch of songs to have on while working or working out.
I think above all else this album excels at two things: Creativity, and it's ability to keep me interested.
Even on songs that I'd consider a miss I was still really interested to see what the next verse or chorus was going to be like. With how much music is in the world nowadays I think being able to come up something completely unique is it's own achievement even if it isn't perfect. I will definitely be keeping an ear out for whatever Jeris comes up with next.
Got a good feeling these guys are going to blow up soon. Some very clear inspiration from Bad Omens but considering Bad Omens wouldn't be where they are today without copying BMTH it leaves me excited to see where this band goes.
AOTY Top 20 - #9 - TOXIC by Yours Truly (Rock/Pop-punk)
TL:DR - Taking heavy influences from 2000s girl-fronted rock groups like Paramore, Flyleaf, and Evanescence, 'Yours Truly' have managed to craft an infectious sound on TOXIC that feels as fresh as it does nostalgic.
Honestly not a lot to say about this album, but I can definitely assure you it HITS if you like female fronted rock. Distorted guitar, punchy drums, kick-ass lyrics just get you so amped.

Generic octane-core is a guilty pleasure for me so I was at least going into this with an open mind hoping to find one or two more tracks I'd enjoy. Sadly, all the songs that I hadn't heard were significantly cringier than the ones I'd listened to (most of which were already pretty meh to begin with).
Watch The World Burn will remain as an outlier to me because I still think that song is genuinely a banger.
This is such a bop, ESPECIALLY when blasted in the car.
AOTY Top 20 - #18 - Analysis Paralysis by Four Year Strong (pop-punk/easycore)
At number 18 today we have Worcester natives Four Year Strong, a band I've been familiar with for a few years now but it wasn't until this newest album that their mix of punk and metal sound really "clicked" for me.
Whether it's the catchy pop-punk choruses on songs like Maybe It's Me or the crunchy metal breakdowns on songs like Daddy of Mine, there is just an energy to this that gets ... read more
Man what a blast from the past, I loved this. Definitely want to shout out the guitar work on songs like Le Risque for damn near perfectly mimicking that Boston/Edgar Winter Group style distortion that I haven't heard in forever.
Came for the meme, stayed for how surprisingly well done it was.
Honestly just fun and goofy. Not sure how seriously he expects everyone to take this as a deep dive into country but at face value I had a fun time with it.
This is fucking sick. Not much else I really need to say about it honestly.
Honestly love the concept here, the grimy, disgusting atmosphere that Midnight T paints with his descriptions in the skits perfectly fits the gritty, underground sound that he is known for making.
Is may be safe as hell, but it is still an enjoyable listen all the same. I can see a lot of these making it on to people's summer playlists this year.
