Definitely more 'palatable' than their previous works so I can understand why older fans might be underwhelmed by this. That being said, with the state of the world right now this is an album that DESERVES to reach the masses. It's raw, uncut, desperation and anger with massive choruses and some HEAVY fucking breakdowns.
I have a feeling this album is going to be a stepping stone for a LOT of surface-level metalcore fans, and I also have a feeling it's one that I'm ... read more
Singles were already amazing and the remaining tracks certainly held up (especially Stress). Really excited to see how the 2nd half of this double album plays out, but until then I see myself jamming to this quite a bit.
While it is great to hear more of the darker, "Portnoy era" sound once again, Parasomnia still hasn't managed to grab me the way their albums from the late-90s/early 2000s did. That being said, those album did have a MASSIVE influence on my music taste growing up, so it doesn't really feel fair to compare the two either.
Overall for a band that's been around as long as Dream Theater has, getting an album that still sounds this good 30+ years into their discography is ... read more
I will always respect whatever the hell these guys are doing even if it doesn't always resonate with me.
Edit: 84 --> 87 - I did what it said and man this shit HITS in the car.
This some good shit, and I haven't even obeyed the title yet, gonna give it another listen tonight on my way home.
Man idk what the hell's going on here but I know I didn't hate it so that's good.
As someone who was not a big fan of the first record, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this one. While the individual members of this band are all talented in their own right, this feels like the band as a whole has grown and been able to turn those talents into a more cohesive sound.
A smooth, creamy, sexy milkshake to my ears (I don't know where I'm going with this).
Fun listen but nothing really stood out to me honestly.
I wish I could say I liked this more, but it just didn't catch me the same way her first EP did sadly.
Better than I thought it was going to be, but still not near their best.
Sully has forever been a guilty pleasure for me and this EP does not change that. It is loud, overly abrasive, and moderately generic, but I still love it all the same.
Easily one of the best up and coming color-bass artists, stoked to see them get a release on a major label like Circus as well!
First Mac Miller album and all I have to say is I get the hype. One of the best posthumous works I've ever heard.
This really has that old-school/UKF era dubstep that I grew up with. Love to see someone still making this sound in current day, and also managing to keep it feeling fresh with some modern trippy-bass influence.
Man this thing has high highs and forgettable lows, it is also a little all over the place and I questioned several times if I was still listening to the same album. That being said, a majority of what I heard was still enjoyable, and it seems Franz Ferdinand still haven't lost their knack for writing some damn good hooks.
