Edit: 87->81 - Cooled off on this one quite a bit, still think it's good but not really top10 territory for me this year.
While it may not harbor some of PhaseOne's greatest hits, I think this does an exceptional job at delivering a cohesive and unique experience, something that I feel we seldom get in the dubstep space. On top of this, I think his continued dedication to collaborate with some fantastic, underrated acts in the alt/metalcore scene (Banks Arcade, Make Them Suffer, ... read more
If you took a drink every time this guy mentioned whiskey, you'd probably pass away with 17 songs to go.
Honestly at this point it's pretty simple: You either like sleep token or you don't. This album isn't going to sway anyone's existing opinions of this band, but if you're a fan of their previous work (like I am), you'll feel right at home.
While I don't think it quite reaches the heights of Take Me Back to Eden (at least after first listen), there are plenty of incredible moments here that will have me coming back for subsequent listens.
After first listen this just feels "decent" at the moment. The 1h41m length is definitely a lot to digest, but honestly I thought the same thing about Rai'hea when that came out and it ended up being one of my favorite albums of all time. The back end of this album being the best part of it is certainly going to help with motivating me to go through subsequent listens.
Didn't hook me the way their last album did. The Knucklepuck collab is pretty good, but the rest of this just felt like it was missing something I can't really describe.
For a brief moment in 2018, Easy-core reached it's peak. There have been many albums before this and many since but none have come as close to perfection of the genre as much as this has.
Dug this more than Heavener, but less than Superbloom. Still love the concept and hope that other bands continue to try things like this in the future!
OCTANECORE MY BELOVED. This shit slaps and I don't care how generic people say it is. There are days where this type of music scratches an itch like nothing else does, and this album is definitely getting played when one of those days comes up.
While all of their albums post-reunion have been a mixed bag of incredible hits and underwhelming tracks, I feel like Underoath is getting closer to striking gold on "The Place After This One". Songs like "All The Love is Gone", "Teeth", and "Outsider" really feel like the band scratching the surface of something greater, and I hope that they continue to experiment with this more electronic, almost dystopian sounding production.

Unbelievably bouncy and catchy riffs while keeping it heavy. Immense swagger while keeping it a little goofy with the lyrics. It's a best of both worlds and man is it FUN.
Yeah this just isn't for me sadly, there are moments where I get the hype behind Trap/Rage but they are few and far between.
Leave it to Dubloadz to cook up such a slick concoction of new and old sound. Nostalgic sound design and samples with fresh twists that are weaved together so well from track to track that I kind of just got lost in it taking a trip down memory lane.
Highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the old "UKF Blue" era of dubstep.
