Mutilation Barbecue - Mutilation Barbecue

Absolute love this old school death metal and they're amazing live as well

Oakwood - Oakwood

An interlude for a 10 min EP is insanity 😭

Radiohead - KID A MNESIA
90

I think that Kid A is a perfect album and that Radiohead was going in a very good direction. As they moved on, they still took influences from this album in future projects, which really reflects the importance of this album.

Just the addition of Amnesiac, which I'm not really a fan of, kind of ruined this release.

Also the Disk 3 tracks just suck too. All they did was add lyrics from another song and everything else from another and made it one. Like, no one wants to listen to a True ... read more

Beyond Creation - Algorythm
80

Actually fire album. Not as good as The Aura or as bad as the other one, but it's decent.

I felt like the lyrics were lazy at times, but it was overall an enjoyable listen

The riffs were kind of badly written, with only the riffs were the vocalist wasn't singing were actually good

Deafheaven - Lonely People With Power
100

Gawd damn, this shit is magical as fuck

I got the CD, only knowing that this band is good and this is a good album. Never listened to it, only knew what the album cover looked like. I put it in my player, started it, read along with the lyrics, then preceded to listen to it several times throughout the night.

It has become one of my favorite album for how surprisingly easy it was to listen to it. I'm not a fan of black metal, except for a couple of bands, but I am definitely not a fan of ... read more

Suffocation - Effigy of the Forgotten
75

A very strong album from Suffocation, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would.

The whole album is the perfect recipe for a decent brutal death metal or slamming death metal album and has been the recipe for those types of albums in the future, being a very big inspiration.

I found most parts of the songs repetitive and the songwriting getting lazier in the later parts of the album, with only those groovy breakdowns catching my attention

An absolute masterclass of metal by some stupid french-canadians

I love this album so much (not just because I'm also from Montreal) because it introduced me to brutal death metal and beyond. It was like a gateway into my favorite genres.

Every song on this album is special in their own right, some are more groovy, some have a blackened aspect to it, and some have insane technical grooves.

One member of Cryptopsy that stands out the most on this album is the drummer, Flo. His technique ... read more

Immolation - Descent
95

My first Immolation album hit like a truck. I really enjoyed this one and they might be one of my new favourite bands.

This sort of "blackened" melodic death metal is amazing. I love the riffs, even if they were repetitive. The lyrics were poetic, surprisingly, and the ambience of the album stayed throughout the whole project, through each song

This definitely made me a new fan

Inferi - Heaven Wept
65

This is my first Inferi album (other than hearing their most popular songs before), and it was not good.

It was an entertaining album, making me excited for the next track after one ends, but there were major components that made the album bad. The vocals do not fit. Those deathcore style vocals do not fit with the technical guitars and drums. There are some parts, like Feed Me Your Fear, which worked, but the vocals were distracting and sticking out more than they were supposed to

Radiohead - Hail to the Thief
75

I didn't really enjoy this album as much as the others. It's just a big mix of the radio-rock of The Bends and the electronic elements of OK Computer. It's an album that completely forgets that Kid A and Amnesiac exists.

There were some good songs, like my favorite, Mixomatosis. Love that groovy riff. And 2+2=5, a great opener, Dare I say their best album opener of all time

Radiohead - I Might Be Wrong: Live Recordings
90

All of these versions of the Kid A and Amnesiac songs are so good, they should've been released as remixes. The National Anthem with no horns, replaced by some sort of electronic music made the song fit more on Kid A than the original song. Everything In It's Right Place is the second best iteration of the song, looping Thom's voice with the synth sounds so dreamy and so good, not as good as the original. The "unreleased" True Love Waits is as good as the studio ... read more

Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool
70

I really don't understand the hype for this album. It just seems too "pop-y" for Radiohead because Thom uses his singing voice too much. I'm not saying that I don't like it, but on EVERY song, even if it has a goofy or serious ambience around it? It just doesn't seem right.

My favorites were Daydreaming and True Love Waits, whom both carried the album and made it listenable. True Love Waits is Radiohead's (hot take) most beautiful song in the saddest way, it ... read more

Radiohead - Amnesiac
85

Definitely has Kid A influences, but more similar to OK Computer than Kid A. For some reason, I really fuck with Pull/Pull Revolving Doors, It's similar to Idioteque and I really enjoy that. You And Whose Army and I Might Be Wrong both sound like wild West type of songs, which I find funny. Like Spinning Plates gives me Motion Picture Soundtrack vibes, and Life In A Glasshouse reminds me of Starless too. I love Starless

Christopher O'Riley - Hold Me To This
95

Another insane cover of Radiohead's best song from Christopher, now including sings off of Hail to the Thief.

I feel like this album is as good as the other one, but unfortunately, my streaming service did not have Gagging Order or Paranoid Android (a song I was looking forward to a lot), so that's why the rating's slightly lower than the first cover LP

Christopher O'Riley - True Love Waits - Christopher O'Riley Plays Radiohead
100

This is an absolute magical cover of the best Radiohead songs pre In Rainbows. I don't even know how, but the piano sounds like the whole band. The guitar, drums, bass, and even vocals all sound present when listening to this album.

His cover of Motion Picture Soundtrack is (hot take incoming) better than the actual song

Radiohead - Creep EP
45

Yeah, this is bad

Radiohead - My Iron Lung
85

My Iron Lung by itself is an incredible track, with a good meaning behind it too.

The other singles, I'd have to say they're alright at best. They all do have that "Bends" sound that the other singles tied in with the album and the singles on the album have, but they're just not as good as the actual album.

I really enjoy the sound The Bends have created and with all its deep cut singles, truely an amazing album. Probably their best. Not their best EP though...

Blood Incantation - Hidden History of the Human Race
85

Never knew a song about a power plant could hit so hard.

This is a good album, just that the final song should not be that long. I get it, the final song should be longer than most or all the other songs, but this is just 3 different songs, all in 17 minutes. They're all good, but they should've been spread out more. I also think that there should have been more songs. Blood Incantation should make an album an hour or more long. And if they did, it should be this one because I love ... read more

Radiohead - OK Computer OKNOTOK 1997 2017
95

No matter how "poser" OK Computer might be, it is still one of the greatest albums of all time.

The first side is iconic with its iconic tracks, but there are some I feel like shouldn't be on that side. I, personally, don't really like songs like Subterranean Homesick Alien and Lucky just because they feel like they don't fit musically. My favorite tracks are Paranoid Android, The Tourist, and Airbag.

What I love about The Tourist is, not only is it fucking magical, ... read more
