This is more interesting than enjoyable to me. The best comparison I can think of is Vintage Violence by John Cale with the mostly lush folk/country influences, but there are some moments that are much more on the psychedelic side (see lover of mine). And well, Moore is not the storyteller or singer John Cale is. What makes this album interesting is that this really explains why the first two Slapp Happy albums sound the way they do.

Moore is definitely more well known from Slapp Happy and Henry Cow... and maybe the Pink Floyd connections I had no idea about until today... But this is a strictly classical/minimalist work. Jam Jem Jim Jom Jem is real fun; I'd like to listen to more minimalist vocal pieces like these with intricate and strange layers (PLEASE send them my way if you know some). Beautiful album. The opener is one of Pharoah's best song - a gorgeous dreamy piece that marries Pharoah’s style with a surreal jazz fusion leaning that surely influenced Sun Ra’s later 70s albums. The album alternates between pieces like these and noisier, freer outings. I got recommended this because it reminded a friend of Kew. Rhone. by John Greaves, Peter Blegvad, and Lisa Herman. This does have a similar vibe to the instrumentals of Kew. Rhone.; it's dark yet melodic and a bit funky. I really enjoy this ensemble, and the resulting sound is truly as if you mixed everyone here together.
