This is absolute madness and I don't quite know what to make of it
Back to back stupid fun that doesn't take itself too seriously. Add some of the most colorful hip-hop production I've heard in a while and you get one of the most enjoyable experiences of the year so far.
I really appreciate how groundbreaking this was for the time, and I can see how it influenced some of the jazz I love, but it's just a bit rudimentary for my taste. It's still an enjoyable project, but I won't be coming back to it so often.
Might grow on me as I listen to more jazz.
Em is on some Tom Macdonald type shit in parts of this album
Favorite tracks: Brand New Dance, Fuel
Worst track: Road Rage
Blue and Moody Music slaps HARD. The rest of the album is cool.
This album has such an unique atmosphere to it. It manages to be both experimental and pretty catchy/accessible.
The grooves and melodies here are simply enchanting. Even a 17 minute track like Refractions in the Plastic Pulse manages to be interesting from start to finish.
I'm in love with this.
The album starts pretty strong, with the title track being one of my favorite bossa nova compositions ever, but there's not much I would consider truly remarkable later on the tracklist. Still have immense respect for how influential the record is though.
Incredible project overall, but Killing for Company is just on another level
The Pitbull sample right after the chorus of one of the more emotional songs on the album got me fucked up
This is one of the most colorful music experiences I've ever had. They created something truly magic here, every sample is masterfully used.
Very inconsistent, but when it hits it hits hard and I would say it's mostly enjoyable.
Best tracks: Stop Breathing, New Tank, Vamp Anthem, On That Time, Sky, ILoveUIHateU
Worst track: Over
Additional points for the funny title
Less adventurous than their previous album, but it's absolute earcandy from start to finish
Almost fell asleep listening to the last track, but there are some decent songs in here. Radioactive sounds incredibly bad though.
