not bad at all but jane at this stage clearly had some developing to do as a songwriter and all of these production ideas were done significantly better on frailty. i will say seventeen is a really nice closer though.
where do i even begin? this is handily one of the most gorgeous, exhilarating, nostalgic, and just downright strange (in the good way) albums i have ever heard. the instrumentation throughout is near flawless, i especially loved the brass on tracks like holland, 1945 and ghost with the ghost effects (i dont know what else to call it) on the latter being another notable standout. the use of anne frank as a symbol to convey various messages about love, life and death was also truly poetic and ... read more
