Probably a slightly more consistent bunch of tracks than the album that followed, however a few weak lines and some of the production is slightly weaker.
+: Gil Scott Never Lied, Concealed, Less / More, Too Close, Lady Blue
-: Strings of Life
Nikobeats and Huey Briss is undoubtedly a rapper-producer duo to look out for in the future. Even though some tracks are much more interesting than others, this still is definitely a pair of artists to keep an eye on.
+: Grace Park Legend, Write Wrongz, All Right, Huey Briss Is Happy, Orange
-: Last Night, Seafood Joint, Lasers
It's incredible that Beach House managed to make an 84 minute long dream pop release that doesn't become boring at all. Admittedly, some discs are stronger than others and some songs are a little more fleshed-out than others, and some drag on a little too long, but this is not a record to overlook.
+: Once Twice Melody, Superstar, Pink Funeral, Through Me, New Romance, Masquerade, Illusion of Forever, The Bells, Hurts To Love, Many Nights, Modern Love Stories
-: Only You Know, Another Go Around
I expected to get tired of this really quickly but each track was really really funny and entertaining and catchy. I do imagine a second album exactly like this might get tiresome but this record is really fun.
+: Rich, Payday, Witness, Quarantine the Sticks, The Incident
-: Tall Poppies
It's boring and not really much more...
+: Champagne Poetry, Papi's Home, No Friends In The Industry, You Only Live Twice
-: Girls Want Girls, Fucking Fans
DISCLAIMER: This is my introduction to Big K.R.I.T. so I have no idea what he's capable of, but this album's style has been done to death and he doesn't do anything to stand out or make this album worth coming back to.
+: Southside of the Moon,
-: All The Time, Would It Matter, Boring, Just 4 You
There isn't too much that goes extremely above and beyond, but this album is really good. The production and Curren$y's flows work so well together. Sometimes the rapping is a little more low-key than I want it and the last few tracks are a tad weaker than most, but this is still a solid project.
+:The Final Board, Signature Move, The Tonight Show, Whale Watching, Corvette Rally Stripes, No Yeast
-: Jodeci Tape,
This is essentially a step in the wrong direction in every possible Oliver could have gone in; seriously, the deluxe of his debut was rough and this is even more rough.
+: Swing & a Miss (if I had to choose)
-: Freaks & Geeks, Doormat, Suitcase Full of Money, Cigarettes, Cowboy Tears
Not quite as strong as her previous EP, but this is pretty damn good too.
+: Eden, Onto Me, Kim, Syrup
-: High Breams, Breathe
Catchy track after catchy track after catchy track; Tkay is undoubtedly a name in hip-hop to look out for.
+: 24k, Shook, Awake, Grasshopper, You Sad, PB Jam, Don't Call Again
-: My Flowers (if I had to choose)
The entirety of this album just feels like a warm hug that your mom gave you next to a fire place in the suburbs.
+: Change, Time Escaping, Spud Infinity, Certainty, Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You, Sparrow, Little Things, Heavy Bend, Flower of Blood, Blurred View, Red Moon, Wake Me up to Drive, Promise Is a Pendulum, Simulation Swarm, Love Love Love, The Only Place, Blue Lightning
-: Dried Roses, No Reason, 12000 Lines
A water-tight tracklist of excellent industrial hip hop.
+: TenTenths, See You Sweat, North Pole, Colors, Chin Up
-: 91 Cadillac DeVille
Not quite Kanye's best project, but hook-wise, this is excellent and has several memorable songs blending pop rap and the soulful sampling Kanye is famous for.
+: Stronger, I Wonder, Everything I Am. Flashing Lights, Homecoming, Can't Tell Me Nothing
-: Barry Bonds, Drunk and Hot Girls
A solidly-produced, politically-charged that has some of Joey's smoothest hooks and most passionate verses. Some tracks are a little instrumentally plain or underwhelming, but there are still a handful of gems here.
+: TEMPTATION, DEVASTATED, ROCKABYE BABY, RING THE ALARM, BABYLON, LEGENDARY
-: FOR MY PEOPLE, LAND OF THE FREE, Y DON'T U LOVE ME?,
A promising and diverse mixtape that showcases the potential that The Underachievers would use on a select few projects after.
+: Revelations, New New York, Leopard Shepard, The Mahdi, Potion Number 25, Gold Soul Theory, Land of Lords,
-: Philanthropist, Root of All Evil, T.A.D.E.D
Although Clipse blows this out of the water only a few years later, this still is a charming and promising debut filled with potential. Admittedly, some of the production on here has not aged very well.
+: Intro, Young Boy, Virginia, Grindin', Cot Damn, FamLay Freestyle, When the Last Time, Ego, Comedy Central, I'm Not You
-: Ma I Don't Love Her, Let's Talk About It,
Although the Bling Era may be seen as a rough patch of hip hop, this album will forever be remembered as one of--if not the best album to come out of the era.
+: We Got It For Cheap, Momma I'm So Sorry, Mr. Me Too, Wamp Wamp, Ride Around Shining, Keys Open Doors, Ain't Cha, Chinese New Year, Nightmares
-: Dirty Money, Trill
This album is genuinely infuriating with so many awful hooks and poor beat choices with the exception of like four songs.
+: One Way or Every N***a With a Budget, Make Believe, Few Good Things
-: Simpler Time, an Interlude Called "Circus", Survivor's Guilt, If I Had A Dollar, Stop That
It begins so promising and entertaining and then just fizzles out with every song sounding the same over and over again.
+: Valentine Texas, Working for the Knife, Stay Soft, Everyone
-: Love Me More, Should've Been Me,
