Hell for a Basement by drug bug is an Indie Rock, Art Rock and Emo album that feels really fragile and massive. It's my first time listening to drug bug, and it left quite the impression on me. It has so much personality and emotion on it that it blasts around every corner. The blending of genres here is incredible: the fuzzy lo-fi passages, twinkling folk instrumentation, Noise Rock climaxes, and warm Chamber Pop textures all coalesce into a sound that feels delicate yet never ... read more
Blue Morpho by Ed O'Brien is an Art Rock and Psychedelic Folk album that feels deeply indebted to the atmosphere-heavy side of Radiohead while still carrying its own softer identity. Going into this as a huge Radiohead fan, it was hard not to immediately notice how much Ed O'Brien’s vocal delivery and songwriting instincts echo the dreamier corners of that band’s discography; it almost feels like A Moon Shaped Pool. Production-wise, JPEGMAFIA absolutely still ... read more
Get Rich or Die Sippin' by Lil Shine is a PluggnB, Pop Rap, and Midwest Hip Hop album that is one of those albums where I completely understand why people love it, even if I still can’t fully connect with it myself. I’ve had a weird relationship with Lil Shine’s music because a lot of my friends absolutely swear by him, while I’m still trying to figure out what exactly makes this sound click so hard for people. Compared to his previous album, Shine Forever, ... read more
