good album, wouldn't relisten (as of right now) because it's not really my type of thing. i felt the musical arrangements we missing a bit of sparkle
i would call this a very evenly matched album, the first part pertains to what Bowie's music has evolved to, having a lot of funk to it, what i can describe the other half as is an ambient experience rather than just an album with songs. the sounds and vibrations speak to us in uncertainty it seems (at least to me), like we've suddenly started floating out in space with no knowing if we'll ever come back, so there remains some sort of tension. liked the discrepancy between band instruments and completely electronic instruments, as well as the Fusion between shoegaze, hard rock(?) and metal. some parts reminded me of the black metal genre as well. great debut and beautiful album. i do feel the arrangements(?) were mostly monotous, but overall great listen for when you feel like listening to calm-esque music!
