Grohl's drums and Novoselic's bass lines complete Kobain's angst. A seamless compilation of raw energy, introspection, anger and dread with unforgettable hooks on every track. 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' draws listeners in from the first riff and drum beat; 'Something in the Way' is the perfect album closer.

Eclectic mix of whatever Mac was feeling at the time, as the cover suggests. What appears to be a compilation of random tracks without an overarching theme somehow turns into an illustrative journey through Mac's mind. Simultaneously humorous, abstract, dark and real.

Uplifting conscious hip hop with great world play expected from Cole. Double platinum with no features by the way.

A journey taking you to hell and back. Perfect execution of an ambitious concept album without a single miss in this epic (excluding the bonus track).

Beautiful production creating a consistent feel throughout the album. Lana's vocals fit seamlessly with the grandiose trip-hop instrumentals. Mediocre lyrics, ad-libs and constant drum machine hype man yelps take away from some tracks but doesn't dampen the overall experience.

Kendrick's best work in my opinion. Perfect cohesive concept album. Album plays like a movie. Great skits. Arguably the best storytelling ever. I feel like I was in that van. Bangers. Songs that will make you cry. This album has everything.

Rocky's most consistent album to date. He becomes less of a pure "hit rapper" and more of an artist. Booming low bass and trippy instrumentals for a psychedelic feel, L$D being the best example. Some gripping storytelling and social analysis on songs such as Holy Ghost and Pharsyde. Finally, Rocky proves he can still make bangers within the psychedelic theme with Everyday.

Kanye's magnum opus. Nothing to say that hasn't already been said.

Echoing production sounds like it was actually recorded while Mac was swimming in an indoor pool, or better yet an isolated cave. "I just need a way out of my head." An album rich with introspective lyrics hits deeper when thinking about his tragic end. 2009 is his magnum opus, detailing his rise to achieving his dreams, his realization that it wasn't all he had hoped, and his subsequent drug abuse. Throughout the album Mac brings his problems to light, shows his highs and lows, ... read more

The soundtrack to summer (k)nights. Every beat is augmented by Joey & co.'s clever bars and wordplay.

Picturesque, simplistic, poetic storytelling from a stunning voice built for Americana.
"You see I
Did not much care
For the way
That he'd sit and glare
So I closed
His eyes for good
With a bar-room chair"
So many perfect tracks on one of the best produced albums of all time. This album feels like lying in the sun in a magical park. Beautiful flow to the tracks which makes the record greater than the sum of it's parts. I just wish Maxwell Edison was never born.

Some perfect tracks in Rock and Roll, When the Levee Breaks and obviously Stairway. Black Dog and Going to California are great. The rest are good.

Near perfect start to Rocky's inaugural album with the title track flowing into Goldie - Long Live A$AP speaking of his past struggles with a haunting hook, while also stating that he will live forever (as a legend) after just one mixtape. This flows into the bragadocious, gold tooth Goldie which shows how he lives now. Certified timeless banger from the moment he comes in with "IT MUST BEEE". PMW has a solid Q feature despite a rather played out theme, but LVL and Hell return to ... read more

Jaw dropping lyricism is made even more impressive by continual ties to the overarching theme. Beats sounds like water giving an otherworldly experience.
Unbelievable storytelling and social analysis culminating in an analogy explaining the album title and adding a richness to each individual story. Among the best produced albums of all time. Songs are superb and the album is still greater than the sum of its parts. Blurs the lines between an album and an audiobook over beats.
