Bruno Mars - The Romantic
59

I didn’t find anything on this tracklist of a low quality, but honestly nothing on here was that great. This whole tracklist kind of felt like a rinse and repeat of the same song 9 times. Also, for a 10 year wait the lyrical content was especially subpar, and very boring. His voice as always was amazing, he sounds great, but to be honest a few of the vocal runs sounded a bit weird, but that could have just been because of the lyrics. The production was cool, but I felt like it had lots of ... read more

The Weeknd - Thursday
89

The 2nd installment of the Trilogy is another display of how unique and forward thinking The Weeknd's sound is. I really think that 2011 OVOXO era was one of the most influential eras of music we've ever seen. With Abel's incredible voice, insane vocal layering/mixing, the cinematic value, and overall entertaining 50 minutes of runtime that this album is, the dragged out songs were okay with me. I feel like there are some sounds on here that are very abrasive and I really ... read more

Baby Keem - Ca$ino
80

After over a 4 year wait, we finally have Baby Keem’s sophomore album, CA$INO, and he delivered on his promise on Scapegoats to give us the origin story. I loved how he kept this tracklist so tight at just 11 songs, it made the listening experience so nice and it’ll allow the album to age beautifully. Baby Keem gave us a nice 3 way split of bangers, introspective + vulnerable tracks about where he came from, and wavy melodic songs. I prefer Baby Keem in his high-octane aux music ... read more

Baby Keem - DIE FOR MY BITCH
75

I don't think I've ever heard a more fresh, abstract, and interesting project that has such surface level lyrics :) His melodic vocal delivery is so infectious and catchy, and his self production is really nice. You can tell at this point in his career he is still testing his sound and finding what works, which makes for a very raw album experiences, but it makes it very fun. Overall, a great mixtape that shows so much potential.

Lil Uzi Vert - Pink Tape
25

Lil Uzi Vert's 3rd studio album sees a giant fall off from his prior solo work, because of a lengthy runtime, boring flows, messy sequencing, and honestly an embarrassing rage x rock crossover to his signature melodic trap style. I'll be transparent, my 3.4/10 score might be a bit overkill, as there are some okay tracks all over this album, but this album is honestly just unlistenable so I couldn't get to appreciate those few highlights as much. My only save off of here is the ... read more

Lil Uzi Vert - Eternal Atake
75

Eternal Atake is one of the best produced trap albums I’ve ever heard, it’s so otherworldly with the space concept and it just puts you into a trance. The transitions and sound effects make it so cinematic and one of the most enjoyable Uzi album experiences. This tracklist is full of bangers, with Uzi just flowing and going off all over this album. My only issue is the length of this album, it easily could’ve been trimmed down to about 12 songs including the bonuses, it ... read more

Lil Uzi Vert - Luv Is Rage 2
80

Luv is Rage 2 does its job as Uzi’s debut album very well, as it feels like the most complete tracklist he has put together. While saying that though, the extended runtime and some tracks being more focused on atmosphere rather than his top tier flow over fun beats made this tracklist a bit less engaging than some of his projects. It’s still one of his best just because of how many highs there are on this project.

Lil Uzi Vert - Eternal Atake 2

I enjoyed Light Year and Not An Option, other than those 2 tracks though, this album was complete trash.....

Lil Uzi Vert - The Perfect LUV Tape ®
80

Perfect LUV Tape is a fitting title, as it's my favorite Lil Uzi Vert mixtape up to this point. It's just such a fun listen, with the best Uzi flows and production you'll find on any of his 3 mixtapes. The soundscape created by Maaly Raw, Zaytoven, Don Cannon, and Metro Boomin is great, and engaging for all 32 minutes. Do What I Want has to be one of Uzi's best songs of his career, it's truly peak. Overall, another strong Uzi project and he continues to keep his ... read more

Brent Faiyaz - Icon
85

Brent Faiyaz continues to be one of the best voices in RnB right now. Icon is a concise 10 track masterclass, where he creates one of his best album experiences ever with such an experimental and cohesive soundscape. Of course, his voice was on point the entire time, and he played around with his delivery a lot. Like on the lead single, Have To, where he seemingly pitched up his vocals which sounded great on the unique production. I also couldn’t help but hear some Michael Jackson type ... read more

J. Cole - The Fall-Off
100

The Fall-Off is Inevitable...... a masterful closing chapter in J Cole's legendary legacy. Cole has already locked up the 2026 AOTY on 2/6/26. The Fall-Off felt like such a special and sentimental experience, with the album being a love letter to hip-hop, Fayetteville, and his family. I thought this album was one of the greatest displays of storytelling I’ve heard with cuts like Safety, Run A Train, Poor Thang, Lonely at the Top, Inevitable, I Love Her Again, What If, Quik Stop, and ... read more

Lil Uzi Vert - Lil Uzi Vert vs. The World
75

Uzi came back on this tape higher production value clearly, the beats are so clean and fun. I also thought he played with his delivery a lot on here, which did come with a few lesser moments on songs, but it also made this album experience so enjoyable. The 33 minute runtime was also phenomenal, as this type of music works best in short spurts of greatness, instead of an extended tracklist trying to push the same vibe. There were NO MISSES here, and overall, a great and one of his best projects.

Lil Uzi Vert - Luv Is Rage
70

Uzi thrives when he can catch a catchy melodic flow over a futuristic or dark atmospheric trap beat, and he did that at a high level all over this project. The 2 things that held this back from being an amazing album are that the tape feels very raw and that some of the punchlines just didn't hit for me. I think this album has some real replay-ability with the bangers, like All My Chains and Enemies, and the wavy vibes like 7AM, Safe House, and Paradise.

Don Toliver - OCTANE
70

Octane is another amazing entry into Don Toliver's catalog, joining his other top tier albums Life of a DON and Hardstone Psycho. Unlike many of his peers, he managed to create another world within his album experience and it was one of the most entertaining albums I've heard in months. While playing in his unmatched lane of psych trap x RnB, he continues to evolve with new production (shoutout 206Derek) and delivery styles. I also found that this may have been his best sequenced ... read more

Don Toliver - Love Sick
60

Love Sick lands low in Don Toliver's catalog which is especially disappointing coming off of an amazing album in Life of a DON. It's a good album for sure, but that is almost guaranteed with Don because of his amazing voice and the cast of producers he works with. I feel like one of Don's best attributes is creating worlds within his albums, and this one just wasn't very cohesive because he tapped into multiple styles that he hadn't tried before. Some of them hit, some ... read more

IDK - e.t.d.s. A Mixtape by .idk.
79

IDK really put together a legendary cast for this mixtape, and the product reflected that very much so. He's got No ID, Madlib, Conductor, Kaytranada, Black Thought, DMX, MF Doom, Pusha T, and RZA all involved in this album experience. It's such a great tape with no misses. I was really impressed with how catchy his cadences were on here, as I expected some solid conscious east coast rap going in. But instead this album bangs from front to back, with some aggressive flows, melodic ... read more

A$AP Rocky - Don't Be Dumb
70

I was really impressed by this album in many categories; changes in vocal delivery, genre switches, a cinematic album experience, and a consistent tracklist. The main issue I find on this album is there are a lack of standouts, as I really only see myself going back to 'Stole Ya Flow' a lot, and the rest of the album is just good to me. The only 2 misses I found on here are STFU and Robbery. Overall, a great return album but I'm still left disappointed and wanting more.

French Montana - Coke Wave 3.5: Narcos
NR

Why did they waste 3 insane Metro Boomin beats? 😭

The Kid LAROI - BEFORE I FORGET
75

Before I Forget is a great melodic break-up album from The Kid Laroi. The only small critiques I have are a few of the production choices were uninteresting and a couple of the choruses didn't hit, but I mean I only have 2 skips on this tracklist (Me+You & Rather Be). I felt like his singing ability grew so much on this album, with some of his previous records having stale pop deliveries, draining autotune usage, and repetitive melodies. On here not only is his voice beautiful, but you ... read more

Drake - So Far Gone
69

A very intriguing mixtape, but I do feel like same about this project as his debut. He is still finding his sound, this sound has aged a bit, and this tracklist lacks the highs of most his other albums. I although I do find more highs on Thank Me Later, I do find this to be a more cohesive listening experience. I also thought the 2 bonus songs were both like top 5 songs off of here. So Far Gone does show off Drake strongest trait of duality at a high level, with RnB cuts like HoustAtlantaVegas, ... read more
