A bloated project that feels like 25 songs of filler. Aside from a few recycled but good flows and the lone good song Him All Along, a single that was released last year, there’s nothing here to keep you awake/engaged. Weak beats, forgettable features, and a lack of energy make this a stale, low mid-tier trap release.
Despite not being on the level of The Forever Story, it is still an amazing album and one of the most entertaining and best of 2025 so far. It has a nice mix of hard-hitting menacing rap, chill rap, and soulful melodic rap. JID continues to show he is one of the best rappers in the game and is competing for the crown. The feature list was one of the most interesting things about this album, with many different styles and names brought in for this album.

Without Warning is a dark collab tape that thrives on Metro Boomin’s eerie production and the sharp contrast between Offset’s rapid flows and 21 Savage’s cold delivery. It’s concise, cohesive, and packed with standout moments like Ric Flair Drip and Ghostface Killers.
Ray Vaughn’s The Good The Bad The Dollar Menu blends chill, conscious, and trap rap with a distinct West Coast flavor. The production stands out with advanced, high-quality beats that elevate the album, even when Vaughn’s vocal styles don’t always stick for me. He's clearly still finding his identity as an artist, with some inconsistencies in vocal mixing and delivery. Still, the lyrical depth on tracks like Flat Shasta, Miles Away From Heaven, Suburban Kidz, and 3PM @ ... read more
A Futuristic Summa aims to revive the late 2000s Atlanta trap era with an all-Atlanta lineup, but most of the features fall flat, coming off stale and uninspired. While Metro Boomin’s bright electronic summer production was impressive and made for some flashes of greatness, it's largely wasted on lifeless performances. The tape has nostalgic ambition, but little replay value.
Channel Orange is a strong, immersive album that highlights Frank’s early talent for storytelling and atmosphere. It may offer a more complete listening experience than Blonde, but its best moments don’t quite reach the emotional highs of “Solo,” “Nights,” or “White Ferrari.” Still, it’s an amazing record and a major moment being a classic debut album.
As the follow-up to the original Man on the Moon, The Legend of Mr. Rager trades in the dreamy optimism of v1 for a much darker, more abstract sound. I found this shift made the album less immediately accessible—gone are the catchy choruses and vibrant highs—but what Cudi loses in brightness, he makes up for in depth. His continued exploration of mental health and his descent into darker personal territory are portrayed with raw honesty, and it’s clear he made a bold decision ... read more
Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist give us an amazing sequel to their 2020 classic. Simply just 14 songs of amazing rapping over a wide palette of great Alchemist production. This album is full of amusing and clever punchlines all throughout.
1. Gold Feet ft. JID - The faster flow was a great switch up from the rest of the album, and they both went in. JID may have had the best verse on the whole album.
2. Ensalada ft. Anderson Paak - Just an amazing song, Anderson had a top tier chorus that ... read more
Similar to Chromakopia, Tyler’s performance on this album felt like a mix of his previous albums. The production on this album though, it is super unique and I loved the summer vibes. It felt like a mix of Dance, West Coast Hip-Hop, and Neo-Soul. I enjoyed how loose and fun this album was, but I think the multiple meanings of the album title was very cool.
A very unique album, it’s abstract UK Pop-Rap with heavy sample use. The beats and flows are so abstract to what I've heard recently. With his amazing melodic voice and short runtime the album is very accessible. There is a bit of an Afro and synth flare that I enjoyed. Lyrically it’s a come up/love album that has some vulnerable writing. Kinda feels like the UK Baby Keem in a way....

Another example of an older rapper delivering to the fullest for an entire album, and with that came very mature writing. The Nas feature and 3 Ghostface Killah features were great. The 5 skits made this album a smooth and concise front to back listen, even with 17 listed songs. Overall, just amazing rapping from Rae on this whole album and a stacked feature list as well.
Travis's elite curation wasn't present on this project at all, a very mid album. Don Toliver is in good form but his vocal mixing wasn't great on here and he wasn't used very well on these songs. There were lots of moments on here I enjoyed, but it felt like they couldn't put together an amazing, complete song.
ALBUM REVIEW:
Incredible rapping performances all over this album, especially from Malice. The Pharrell production was amazing all over this thing, So Be It was the production stand out for me. Nas, Tyler, and John Legend were the highlight features for me. The less menacing and less aggressive songs with hooks brought the album down a bit for me.

So many layers to this classic Kid Cudi debut album. An incredible concept of dreams and nightmares, with the heavy storytelling of his mental health. There is such a diversity of music on this album, yet it's so cohesive. Some highlights include Soundtrack 2 My Life, My World, Day N Nite, Make Her Say, Pursuit of Happiness, and Up Up & Away.
A super concise piece of work that is so impressively focused. The Alchemist gives such versatile production for Freddie to go in on, and go in he did.
A very chill RnB X Rap album experience. No bad songs on here, with standouts like Erewhon and San Junipero. Their chemistry was pretty strong on here throughout.
A mixed bag of melodic trap tracks. Juice carried Future on most of these songs.
This album is full of great ideas and a few amazing songs, but overall it is an extremely mid trap project. It is unfinished in every facet, and Kanye's rapping just isn't the same.
