The vulnerability, storytelling, and mix of genres you find on this album make it incredible. This is the most impressive rap album so far this year, and it just so happens to have immense replay-ability as well.
This is where the most legendary album series in history begins to get stained, as this is the first installment to fall short of greatness. It is extremely meh, it only has about 3-6 listenable songs on it, but none of them stack up to even Wayne's best off of TC5. This album has 2 big highlights, the beautiful soul sample on Welcome To Tha Carter & the banger Banned From NO.
Lil Wayne put out some of the best music of the year on this album, with all time songs like Uproar and Let It All Work Out. It does check in as the worst installment of Tha Carter series though because it is very bloated. It would have been just fine at 10-14 songs
One of the best albums ever, Be carries the unmistakable touch of Kanye’s school-series era production throughout, giving it a smooth, concise, and effortlessly enjoyable sound. Common’s storytelling and song concepts are sharp and compelling, making this album both a lyrical and musical standout.
OMG, Is Joey having the greatest battle performance ever?
The Finals, My Town, Crash Dummy!!!
Great summer album, some super bouncy beats that were the highlights for me. One of the better 2025 albums!
A better project than the original Beastmode, but still a lacking tape. Love songs like Cuddle My Wrist a lot
I do like when Future makes short concise projects. This one missed the mark for me though, as I only got like 3-4 great trap cuts and the rest felt uninspired. Zaytoven was cooking though.
I felt like from track 5-12 it was great mixtape, but tracks 1-4 just didn't click for me. His vocals and delivery just sounded completely off and I didn't enjoy it. Songs like Hater Shit, Purple Reign, and Bye Bye were great cuts though. Classic Future hitting those crazy pockets over some of the best trap production out there.
Good album, probably the best trap album of 2025 so far. Nothing insane, I'm not super into his stuff but this was a nice album. Such an amazing first 6 songs + the outro is special
This is a great mixtape. Lots of nice tracks on here, especially Jet Taylor & I Might Be. Wiz isn't some consistently incredible hip-hop artist, but this was a great project from him. Much better than anything else he's put out in recent years.
A transcendent psychedelic synth pop album that is just special front-to-back. I mean we start with a 10/10 intro with Let It Happen. The sounds you hear on this project are like no other. I also think the storytelling and song concepts are very underrated on this album.
A great project by these two, I do wish Knowledge could've had production on here though, I feel like he fits their styles
Another amazing installment of The Carter series. The rapping was on point with tracks like Mega Man, Blunt Blowin, and 6 Foot 7 Foot. The two Drake features were amazing as well.
