A couple months months post ADP hype the revisionism on their music has begun. People saying they were always boring and the gimmick was really all they had to appeal to the mainstream and they'll eventually fade into irrelevance, and that may be true. But this still rocks.

I like it but it's very much akin to elias ronnenfelts solo work rather than what id expect out of an iceage album (I only listened to the first one so my opinion might be outdated) my biggest gripe is it goes too indie rock sometimes (even though it is an indie rock album) it goes into the formulaic indie rock playbook the that I'm kinda tired of I'm just nitpicking since I do think it incorporates punk elements very well while maintaining the structure of the album. Bob Dylan is an artist I am not at all educated in and that has become apparent when I heard highway 61 revisited. In the hissing of summer lawns is best represented by its cover in the sense that nothing is unknown, the storytelling/lyricism is absolutely on point in this record which seem to go at breakneck speed throughout almost the entire album even if it is a jazz and folk pop record.
