When I first listened to In Rainbows, I shrugged it off as a pretty good album in Radiohead's catalogue just next to the Bends and Hail to the Thief. Souvlaki is a masterpiece and is the most famous example of Shoegaze's dreamy, soft side for a reason. Every song on it is a masterpiece and maintains its unique identity while blending a cohesive musical narrative together. This album is gut-wrenching, romantic, and blissful all at once in an ethereal way. The more I revisit this album, the more I believe that Souvlaki should be considered THE Shoegaze album over Loveless.
