This album has everything I like about Aphex Twin's music, the balance between sweet melancholy and uncanny darkness. Due to its age some moments sound quite dated but in a charming way. He weaves together hip hop and electro rhythm with dreamy minimal-influenced synthwork well.
One of the most perfect albums ever recorded. MC Ride's lyrics and delivery are paranoid, intense, and misanthropic; Andy Morin and Zach Hill's production matches the vocals perfectly. This is just terrible. Despite its name neither the rapping nor the production are experimental. The same triplet flow on nearly every song, tedious and monotonous to listen to. There is absolutely nothing new or interesting about the production, it sounds like he's using riddim presets that were played out even back in 2018, and the rock elements also feel lazy and uninspired. I should like this album on paper, it's got dreamy cloudy synths and industrial influences. But I just don't. I don't like the production and I don't like the vocal performance. It felt flat for me, the ideas don't feel as developed as past Bladee projects.
