Kanye West - Donda

Decent album overall, but way too long with lots of good to great songs mixed with many forgettable to bad songs. Off the grid, Moon, Keep my spirit alive, Jesus lord, Come to life, No child left behind are some of Kanye’s best songs ever but those are unfortunately mixed in with so much mid songs such as God breathed, Praise god, Ok ok, Junya, 24, Remote control and Heaven and hell. The production and beats are mostly very good as usual with a Kanye album, there are also many great ... read more

Kanye West - The College Dropout

One of the most groundbreaking, introspective, vulnerable and humorous album in all of hip hop. Kanye’s lyricism is very compelling and reflective considering all the events leading up to it such as dropping out of college or his car crash in 2002. It has great features including Syleena Johnson on All falls down, Twista on Slow Jamz and Mos Def on Two words. Skits that are charismatic and witty including Graduation day, School spirit skit 1 and Lil Jimmy. perfect hooks on songs such as ... read more

Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)

One of the most impressive feats in all of hip hop history, the way a group this size with several members managed to make an album that is so unique and raw without bringing it to any faults in mindblowing. Each member of the group gives great performances wether it is the RZA production, great performances from Ghostface Killah and Inspectah Deck, very compelling lyricism from GZA, Raekwons rugged style and Method man’s charismatic delivery and fantastic hooks. The only thing keeping me ... read more

Madvillain - Madvillainy

Such an incredible album, definitely difficult to get into the first few listens but it really clicked after understanding the sound of the album and the intricate lyricism that is so dense. Madlibs production and beats on this album are so raw and gritty, giving the album so much life and character. The samples are very unique and eclectic especially on tracks such as Raid and America most blunted which are utilised in extremely creative ways. MF DOOMs lyricism on all of the tracks smakes him ... read more

JAY-Z - The Blueprint

9/11: The album
Such a superb album with fantastic production and beats especially from Kanye and Blaze. Jay Zs lyricism on this album is so sharp and focused on the themes that affect his personal journey weather it’s his rise to where he is at this point of his life or his perspective of the world including on the mainstream around this time and how he alludes himself as the top of New York on Takeover while dissing Nas and Prodigy with triumphant lines making him trying to compete over ... read more
