Pop Culture is an important milestone for Knocked Loose. I wasn't originally a fan of this EP, but since listening to the rest of their discography and getting a lot more into the beatdown hardcore world, I feel like I can come back and appreciate this work. This is a short EP, but these tracks are raw, unfiltered, and it's intensity really forces you to pay attention. While maintaining the genre's core structure, they left open an opportunity for the band to explore additional dimensions in ... read more
For All The Dogs is very much so a mixed bag. Admittedly, I'm not the biggest Drake fan, but this album has some exquisite moments, and also tracks that make me question if Drake even cared enough to quality check them before sending it out. I'm going to keep my review short since it seems others have already talked about and expanded on the praise and gripes I have with this record to a pretty full extent.
It is just so frustrating that Drake is the most well known and influential musician in ... read more
SOUR is impressively consistent. Every track ranges from pretty good to great, while nothing really blew me away. This album has heavy themes of teenage emotion, heartbreak, and self-discovery, which has it stand out against the more generic radio pop albums of this year.
Olivia's vocals are seriously impressive, considering this is her debut album, and she didn't much in terms of experience in the industry. The best thing that SOUR accomplishes is its ability to create an engaging listening ... read more
Slipknot is a timeless album. The aggression in the sound perfectly portrays the emotion of the band and makes for a very powerful listen. While not every track on this album is great, it will still be something I can come back to time and time again for the rest of my life.
This album is probably the single most important album that I've ever listened to that has shaped me to be the person I am today. In 2008, I was not interested in music. I played sports and wanted to become a professional ... read more
Epitome of Darkness is passable for what it is. It's gritty, dark, sludgey. I went into this album not really expecting much, and for the most part, my expectations were met. There's very little that stood out as unique or interesting, but with that said, the general sound of the record is fairly well produced and would be very listenable.
Let's play a game. Take a shot every time you hear "blood" , "dead"," or "corpse" and see if they can finish pumping your ... read more

Girl with Fish is an incredibly unique album, with a lot of fun, intrigue, and charm. What I first thought was a pretty good noise pop album, has since become one of my favorite albums of the year. I just can't put this thing down, and even got the vinyl as a birthday present from my wife because she saw how often I was playing this album.
This is my first exposure to feeble little horse, and I immediately became a fan and went to check out everything else they've put ... read more
Electric Dusk has shown a lot of potential. While it may not reach the upper echelons of musical brilliance, it certainly has its moments worth exploring. I even recommended this album to a couple friends after listening to the first 3 songs, before it suddenly plummeted in quality from track 4 on.
The album's tracks offer a wide range of variety. Some songs stand out with their catchy melodies and Thomas's distinctive vocals, creating moments of engagement. However, there are instances where ... read more
Black Ben Carson is pretty hit or miss for me. The ideas on this album are very fresh and exciting, but an experience that drags on for way too long without a consistency that holds it all together. It carves its own path through the hip hop landscape and shows the level of creativity that Peggy would develop to much greater effect later on in his career.
This album isn't trying to be a timeless classic or something that's going to be the new pinnacle of music or anything like that. It sounds ... read more
Grapes Upon The Vine is mind-numbingly repetitive. This album is extremely long, boring, and at times, a real struggle to listen to. Now, with that being said, the sound of this album is not terrible, it just suffers some abyssmal production choices. Some of the tracks genuinely feel like being forced to listen to a 5 second loop for a long extended period of time.
Extremely disappointing considering what I've heard from TV Girl in the past, and I was excited to listen to this, but this did ... read more
Laugh Tracks has an energy to it that's impossible to overlook. This thing is heavy, dark, violent, and so much more, perfectly bundled together in a project that I greatly underrated upon first listen. Knocked Loose on this album do a fantastic job at getting the listener pumped full of adrenaline.
From Oblivion Peak to Counting Worms to My Heroes to Billy No Mates, this album is packed full of some of the most blood pumping, exciting tracks that the genre has to offer.
As someone that ... read more
The Origin of My Depression is a haunting abyss of mental illness, done nearly flawlessly. This is not an easy listen, and is not for the feint of heart, but may be one of the most impactful albums I've ever heard. The dark drone and harsh noise of this album just fit thematically so well together, and portrays the feelings of depression and solitude so well. It is extremely powerful, and soul-crushing while being on the edge of sonic pefection for me.
It's like a vortex of emotions that ... read more
I am upset because I see something that is not there. is an impressive and unlikely genre-fusion that is surprisingly very easy to listen to. It's experimental, it's creative, and it's just fun from start to finish. The production is masterful and very sharp. While nothing here is flawless, it is extremely memorable to say the least.
This album is on go mode 24/7. It's fast paced, and gives you something new for you to digest during every moment. I was so immersed in this album experience, ... read more
I Didn't Mean To Haunt You is a unique, gratifying experience. Told from the perspective of the dead, this album gives us a really interesting concept and narrative that I have not seen done before. Looking at this project in a different way than what is given to us on a surface level really gives the listener the additional context to enjoy these stories to the fullest, and I believe it is done super well.
This is easily the best work I've seen from Quadeca, and it makes me very excited what ... read more
SCARING THE HOES is a sonic experiment that redefines the fabric of musical collaboration. JPEGMAFIA and Danny Brown have conjured a masterpiece that demands your attention, subverting the ordinary and sending the listeners into a realm of weird audio genius.
This album is extremely fun, extremely creative, and very easy and smooth to listen to. The fusion of their artistic styles gives us something that's both exciting to listen to, and boundary-pushing. I believe that this project really ... read more
The Barbie Album is just completely consistently inconsistent. This thing is a rollercoaster from good to even great songs to some of the worst music I've heard this year at all. There is a huge lack of cohesiveness and even style here. That being said, I think it's important to note that this album wasn't made with intentions of people listening to this front to back like some more classic albums do. This is made for people to pluck the songs off they want to add into a playlist, and that's ... read more
The Balcony is a very solid, enjoyable album. It's like that favorite old pair of jeans – comfortable, familiar, and dependable, even if it's not turning heads on the runway. Some tracks hit that sweet spot, delivering a dose of musical charisma that resonates, but there are moments where it blends into the background. At a certain point, the tracks just start blending together, with the sound of each not being unique enough to differentiate from the rest.
