To really get as close to the idea of perfection as possible, you need to be certain that it checks all of your boxes in your own arbitrary rules as it can. Well, this did it for me. It's really hard to deny any faults in Disintegration. It's got stellar production, transcending instrumentals, a floaty vocal performance, and it's honestly accessible to just about anyone. It may have parts that you weight in on heavier than other sections, but I truly don't believe it has a ... read more
Unrelated to the music, but I've always really liked the album cover. It's what I imagine an LSD trip while playing Bubsy on the NES would look like.
Anyway, this is really fun. All the tracks hold at least some merit towards the overall enjoyment of the listening experience. Even the weaker tracks offer something. But the hits certainly do hit really hit you hard with that psychedelic and pop sugar rush. It knows when to tone it down with tracks like I Found A Whistle and ... read more
It's solid enough as an Indie record, it also has a few good hooks within this tracklist. Punching the Flowers is no doubt a highlight, my personal favorite is How Heavenly a State because it feels fairly innovative in comparison to other songs here. I suppose that's the glaring problem with this album in general. It's solid across the board, but it doesn't have a diverse set that makes the majority of tracks stick out in your mind. If you want a consistent listen however, ... read more
This is such a great pick-me-up kind of album when you need to refresh yourself after a stressful day. It's got all kind of melodies that can remedy a bad mood. From the slower and luscious tracks that creep up on you and push your mind into a trance, to the more energizing tracks that lift up those somber spirits. It's jam packed with the necessities to just have a good day, because you've felt you've earned it.

Vince Staples returns with a very politically charged project that doesn't hide away from the current state of affairs in America. The lyrics are not only cutthroat, but also grosses you out in a sense that it's the blunt reality making you sick to the stomach. The track list is very dynamic and I can easily see many of these tracks being ranked as someone's personal favorite. It's fairly refined and doesn't hamper on for too long as you take in the simple yet potent ... read more
You know, this album kind of surprised me. It's able to take risks for the sake of being a unique listening experience, and for the most part, it works in its favor. It gets you into a good mood through its bombastic and explosive instrumental performance. But don't be too mistaken, because there a few somber tracks littered across the runtime. Good ones might I add. The vocal performance is enjoyable, the singer knows when not to overstay their welcome in order to allow the ... read more
An extremely beautiful alt. rock project that showcases Billy's vocals at their absolute peak. You go through a sorrowful rush of emotions as the luscious instrumentation sweeps you off your feet. The lyrics are heavy hitting in such a way where you have moments what you can feel a bitter relation with, or moments where you can sympathize with the reason why these tracks were all put together in the first place. It's well thought out, rich with an absolutely mesmerizing production, ... read more
They've still got it. After almost 13 years of Boards Of Canada being absent from the music scene, there were many questions in the air about if they still had that perfect craft of ambience mixed in with IDM. Inferno showcases exactly why they are not an act to doubt. In fact, it sets itself apart from the rest of their discography while still maintaining the stellar production. It begins as a haunting record from the first couple of tracks making you feel empty inside, only to reel you ... read more
What a fantastic listening experience. All the tracks here are very close in quality, making is a very consistently great Latin Jazz record. It's also one that cheers you up in an instant. The best way to describe this is like a cure for a bad mood. Play it if you're stuck indoors. Play it if you're out on a walk. Play it if you're in the middle of cooking a meal. It's got you covered under many situations.

This album has been passed around almost like a family heirloom for nearly thirty years now. What makes this particular album so memorable to me over all these years is how enriched it feels in the orchestral performances, luscious vocal performances on the features, and the jazzy undertones from the instrumentation. It feels like a complete party package if you want to wine, dine & impress a group of people over a nice dinner. It's so authentic in its modern orchestral maneuvers that ... read more
Almost the equivalent of finding a hidden treasure of pure silver, Halo is a remarkable album that blends the soft spoken vocal performance from the lead singer and the methodical instrumentation that leads you on to the varying motions. The track list has some good standouts, but often times it can feel a little lacking. As if you're yearning for a little more substance. But those standout tracks really do beam up your overall perspective of this project.

It's a commendable Slowcore album, however it lacks a lot of staying power. But for the moment, it is a pleasant listen that tackles the heart of the genre in a sustainable type of way. What it lacks is mainly the hard-hitting and emotionally driven lyricism to compliment the slow flowing instrumentals. For what it is, it's still pretty good.

Urban Hymms is an essential release to the Britpop movement, especially for the late 90s. It has some of the highest highs I have ever heard from the genre, but the majority of the album.....is still pretty good, but grossly outclassed by the big hitters. There is a huge power imbalances between tracks such as Bitter Sweet Symphony and The Drugs Don't Work compared to other tracks like.... Catching The Butterfly or Space And Time as an example. Both are still fairly solid listens, but they ... read more
The 2020s are definitely getting defined by their prowess in Jazz-Rock blending alongside other genres. Candelabro however accomplishes something completely magical that sets itself apart from other notable jazzy projects. The vocal performance here compliments the instrumentation very well, because it's able to switch in tempo between soft and soothing, towards an uproar of explosively blissful euphoria that's downright gorgeous. It made for a very impressive first listen that kept ... read more
I wanted to check what all the fuss was about, much like any other Taylor Swift album that comes out. She leaves a major impact on the mainstream music scene, sometimes she can downpour some solid and personal projects that resonate deeply with her fanbase, other times it feels grossly out of touch with reality. The Life Of A Showgirl, unfortunately, falls into the latter category. It's a shame because in a vacuum, there's some good tracks here and there at the beginning of the album ... read more
"Off Off On" stays within the boundaries of contemporary and folk indie music. It doesn't stray beyond its temperate markings and doesn't try to be ambitious in its achievements. It's all around an honest to good album that doesn't want to go the extra mile. It may be its own shortcomings, but it's still a good record. It plays to its strengths and keeps chugging along, however it can feel a bit repetitive in moments when you're left with eleven tracks ... read more
Somersault has a nice lush feel to it, which makes a fairly relaxing Dream Pop album to indulge in. It doesn't get too overly ambitious, but rather it sticks to its strengths and makes up for its safe yet strong mixing. It also has a somewhat nostalgic presence, as if this were recorded a full decade earlier. It's both a strength and a weakness as while it can already feel a little dated, it does nail the laid-back aesthetic better.

It's astonishing how nostalgic this album feels despite only discovering it only a few years ago. It has that perfect blend of summertime downtempo and this wave of electronic free flow that makes you reminisce on your memories. I do equate this album to being at the beach when I was younger without having to deal with the troublesome struggles and worries as an adult. This is making me feel so old, damn. But it's only because it is so refined and still so fresh after two whole ... read more
A very fun project to listen to, and honestly it's now Geese' strongest effort at this current moment. Risk taking is certainly on Cameron's bucket list when writing tracks, because this does go beyond the norm for an Indie Rock album, which is a great endeavor to have. And I feel that they aren't out of steam just yet; there's still more fuel in the tank we have yet to witness. So I await to see what Geese has in store for us next.

The feeling of despair resonates strongly here. This album nails inducing hopelessness into our pitiful hearts. Low accomplishes something very special with this project. The instrumentation makes it seem a whole lot less empty than their previous album "I Could Live In Hope", but appearances are deceiving. Instead of locking you in isolation based on outside forces, "The Curtain Hits The Cast" makes you believe that your own shortcomings are the result of your own actions. ... read more
