I don't know what to say for a review. Just a beautiful and immersive album.
Best Song: Monday, Thundrrr, Godstained, Dancing without moving
Worst Song: None
The louder the track, the better it is. Yeat taps into another new sound to provide us another trap banger. Although i havent listen to his previous projects and the follow up to 2093, if this is the sound he is carrying into A Dangerous Lyfestyle, Yeat might be some of the most innovative sounds to pop out.
Best Song: Put It ONG, ADL is coming
Worst Song: 2TONE
Although this does not top the highs of The Forever Story, It's still a very impressive sequel with improved lyricism and rhyme schemes. Number scheme from both JID and Vince Staples were creative and interesting. Baby Kia's feature provides much energy and hype needed for the album. Malice's feature on this proves that he can hang with the best even without the numbers. Mereba continues to deliver on rap albums whenever she is asked upon. Good album all together, however, it is ... read more
the lgbtq+ anthem with some tracks that sound very nice and fitting for the theme, however the tracks that were suppose to draw more sorrow and emotions lack in this album. Overall, debut LP sounds good but nothing more than that.
Best song: Red Wine Supernova, Hot to go, My kink is karma
Worst song: Coffee
It's boring. This is a disgrace to the sequel of the original Jackboys with actual hype tracks and good flows. Aside from Champain&Vacay everything is just underwhelming. Beep beep sounds like Peanuts 2 N elephants with that awful beat and also what is that feature on PBT sounds like a dog on rabies if im honest.
All in all, it's a comatose of a snoozefest. It's just trap beats and Travis trying he's very best to destroy what he has.
I'm sorry but JID does not live up to his Lofty Expectations and that exactly isn't his fault. TFS was one of if not the best albums of the 2020s and even leading up to God Does Like Ugly, his single and features have all sparked alot of enthusiasm that GDLU will be his magnum opus. However, GDLU preluxe does not live up to that. Behold is what is suppose to set the tone for GDLU, while although it does that, Knew Better feels like words being rambled on and on and just gets boring ... read more
infectious, some of the best soul and sophisti-pop that laid the foundation for the future. Not only that, she pairs it up with the occasional hard-hitting and meaningful lyrics creates some of the most influential music of the 90s. However, it isnt rated as high as the majority due to my inability to resonate with it as i find the production abit outdated. All in all still a fantastic album by all means.
Best Song: Kiss of Life, Pearls, Bullet Proof Soul
Worst Song: None
I can't give this a rating, I can't comprehend what I just listened to be honest. Lyricism-wise seems dense as hell with heavy intricate meaning but probably need more dissecting. Production-wise it sounds as though a live band is playing right in front of me. Overall, this feels like TPAB 2.0.
Dedicating an entire album just to diss someone is insane. This is my first time being put on a Simz project and it's pretty good. Sad to see there is no Cleo Sol here as every collab with her is generational but overall a well curated album.
Best Song: Blue
Worst Song: Young
Ray Vaughn recently blowing up is quite a mystery. With such energy and such versatility to bounce on more heavy hitting tracks, to more introspective tracks, to more bouncy one, you would probably expect this from the top dawgs (no-pun intended) from TDE. Nonetheless, this album is really good filled with great production, lyricism, cadence and introspection. It's a well balanced dollar menu.
Best Song: FLAT shasta, XXXL Tee, KLOWN dance
Worst song: no
It's nice, feels like a blend of MAVI and Earl Sweatshirt but with a lesser pen game and production. Overall, it's a good album, but doesn't stand out whatsoever especially with the album being so short.
I liked it alot. Soulful production from Knxwledge and the smooth bars from Anderson Paak really is a combination for the ages. Sprinkle in some features that all delivered massively when needed. And there you go, an album with hardly any misses.
Best Song: OutTheWay
Worst Song: SheUsed
Edit: 80> 75 nothing special, just a really good neo-soul album
As all major media outlet states that it's the 3rd anniversary of Mr Morale and The Big Steppers, i thought it would be a good day to self reflect and maybe do some healing by brutally reflecting on myself. However as I'm done with MMTBS, i felt it lack something, i need more time to reflect, so i thought to myself, what albums also carry the same emotions as MMTBS. Thats when i remembered Some Rap Songs.
I used to ask the same question as every generic rap fan, why is Earl always ... read more
Less trap heavy, playing more into that psychadelia theme with tame impala and don toliver all being features here. Definitely some songs here are very overplayed like SICKO MODE, but it's good. Credit where credit is due, SKELETONS and STOP TRYING TO BE GOD really adds more depth and perspective to this album rather than it being just a compilation of songs.
The best album to sleep to, to vibe to, to cry to, to get introspective to. The album that keeps giving
This feels like something they would play at the pearly gates/ an album specifically made for a musical (smtg like La La land)
Feels like Laufey but with more musical depth and a change of tempo mid song. Actually sonically interesting and intriguing, a new genre i explore, didn't expect myself to listen the whole album in my first sitting. However, i feel the songs individually won't have much replayability, but as an overall album, this will be a timeless one. Overall, fantastic ... read more
God blessed Us.
It has been long since we have received a Saba album. From his critically acclaimed album of Care For Me, to his sleeper hit of Few Good Things, and now finally after 3 years of teasing we finally get it. From The Private Collection of Saba and No ID. This album is more mature and refined in everyway possible to what he has already done. The lyricism, flows and cadence from Saba just keeps getting better. Not to mention with the veteran presence of No ID, this album will easily ... read more
Dave Blunts if he actually puts down the cup.
Has been long since I discover a new up and coming rapper and this one is good, well at least on a good trajectory. His sound is a bit monotone but the difference in production really carried this album and set him up to good. It's more of a like play into the artist's strengths kinda thing. Overall, very solid album and likeable with no bad songs that weigh it down.

Worst song: can't really ... read more
