There I was, listening to Muse’s 2018 release by the name of “Simulation Theory” for the first time. I was through the first couple songs thinking “y’know, this hasn’t been all that bad so far! maybe the hate on this album is overblown,” when suddenly

You know when you see “Jazz Fusion” on a metal album it’s gonna be awesome
Atmospheres and Soundtracks to do my science homework to
The highs on this album are pretty damn high but there’s 4 or so songs bringing it all down and ruining the party. Like I wanna give this an 80 but besides maybe the closer I don’t care about anything after Alone I Break.
Every time I see this cover I think it’s this doctor who intro https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMfB96pwcTA
I wish I didn’t wait so long to listen to this cause I like it quite a bit more than superbloom. The track 2-5 run especially is great, Trilogy is easily my favorite song I’ve heard from them so far. Second half wasn’t as good but it still had some moments.
A lot of this album is just really dull. Not many tracks ever hooked me in, they just came and went. It almost feels unfinished like so many of the songs didn't go anywhere they just end. It's not bad but I wouldn't see much of a reason to relisten to it, especially compared to their other work.
I was literally just thinking a few days ago “man, I wonder when Static Dress are gonna drop again” and they proceed to release peak from the tallest of mountains
Probably my favorite release from them so far. Has more variety than Rat Wars to me and the whole thing is such a vibe.
Shamelessly promoting my first single for my electronic project now out on all major streaming. Any feedback/criticism is greatly appreciated.
Saw these guys live a couple days ago with Invent Animate and bought a shirt from them, so I’m glad I actually seem to like their music
