All songs are good on here and the first 4 songs and Vengeance are amazing. I honestly wasn’t expecting much when I decided to listen to this because I’ve heard Agents of Fortune and it was not great besides one of my favorite songs of all time, (Don’t Fear) The Reaper. Excluding (Don’t Fear) The Reaper, everything on this album was better than Agents of Fortune and it does make me want to listen to more of their music. Overall I’d say this is about an 86/100 off ... read more
Some great songs but it kind of sucks that depressed ocean and uzi Edwards are on here. I don't enjoy either of those songs that much but they don’t ruin the project just bring it down a little.
First Baby Keem album I've listened to. I've heard a few songs by him but haven't listened to a full album yet and I was pretty hyped for this to drop. Overall, I enjoy this album a lot. There are a couple of songs I thought were just alright but there is a lot to love about this. His lyricism is great and the production is amazing.
This will definitely grow on me more. I didn't really care for most of the songs on first listen but after listening to it a few more times I enjoy every song.
Might add more to my review later but at the moment I don't have much to say about it.
This, Hurry Up Tomorrow, and Magic, Alive! are all neck and neck for my favorite album of the year.
This album has amazing production, the drums hit hard and have a lot of energy, and the samples are amazing. My only complaint about the production is that at times it feels too similar to other songs on the album.
There isn't a single bad verse on here and the whole album is very well written. I don't really like the chorus on TAKE NO MORE but besides that the choruses and verses are ... read more
Not as bad as I was expecting it to be. Some of the songs have boring production but others I really enjoy and I don’t dislike Kid Cudi on here. I didn’t pay attention to the lyrics that much but they were basic from what I did pay attention to. I’d say there isn’t really anything that bad about this but there is not a lot good about it, just kind of mid.
Finally gave this a full listen and it was amazing. Pusha T and Malice have really great verses across the whole album, and the features are amazing. The production is also really good besides a few songs I'm not that big on the instrumentals, specifically Chains & Whips has a bit of a boring instrumental to me, but it isn't bad. There really isn't much wrong with this, it's concise and lyrically dense. It's close to album of the year for me.
This is what cloud rap is supposed to be. The beats are heavenly especially the beat on Hidden in the Mist. His voice and flows fit well, and this project isn't too long. I think that this about the perfect length for a cloud rap project. The only issue would be lyrics but if someone wants good lyrics cloud rap isn't the genre for that. I'm on my second listen and so far, my top 3 is Hidden in the Mist, Misty, and Yellow Diamonds.
this was the first album release by The Weeknd that I experienced. Before this dropped the only album by The Weeknd I had heard was after hours.
This album was perfection on first listen and since then it has grown off of me a little bit, but I still think that it is amazing. I wasn't too high on Wake Me Up when I first heard the album. It took a while for me to start really enjoying it and with having heard all of his albums, it is the perfect way to start the end of his discography. ... read more
some really good songs but I don't like the first half that much. Always been a very forgettable album to me and it's grown on me a little more but still not the biggest fan.
Kanye's most experimental album and maybe my favorite by him. On Sight is the only way he could start Yeezus. The lyrics on here are very to the point and he doesn't sugarcoat his thoughts. It's messy and all over the place with the sounds. My top 3 favorites in order are Blood on the Leaves, Guilt Trip, and Hold my Liquor. The instrumental on Blood on the Leaves is amazing, the horns, the drums, the energy, everything about it is perfect to me. Kanye has great verses, and the ... read more
nothing really that great with this but nothing truly wrong with it either. The instrumentals are basic, and the lyrics are nothing special, wasn't expecting great lyrics so doesn't really change anything for me. A little mid and boring but not terrible.
my second favorite from the trilogy, still have yet to give a review on Thursday but I will at some point. D.D. is the perfect way to start this. I prefer The Weeknds rendition of D.D. more than the original song. The vocal pitching on initiation made me hate the song for a while and, even though I still don't like the vocals, the song is good. This sounded the most polished out of trilogy which I enjoy but it doesn't feel like it has the same ambition he had on HOB. The title track ... read more
Great shoegaze album, I like how it’s a bit heavier sounding than other shoegaze albums I’ve listened to, and I like how the songs are on the shorter side and don’t drag. I think one of the hardest things about making music is not being too repetitive or making songs longer than they need to be and this album does a great job at not being too long and not being too short.
Around a year and a half ago I tried listening to this and wasn't a fan, decided to relisten and it's one of the best decisions I've made. The production is really great, and Lupe's writing has been amazing throughout his whole career. Intro sets it up really well and there is never a drop in quality, every song is necessary to the album and is enjoyable (not counting intro/outro).
The pitched-up vocals that happen at random times kind of annoy me. I'm not the biggest fan of how some of the songs are just vocals and guitar/piano with some sound effects. Great album just not really for me. I've listened to this a few times before and will more over the next week and might add more to my review.
