This is a raw and awesomely creative project.
I can't stand when people say that Bar Italia is literally just a copy of Dean Blunt's music. It's not. This album shows how they are unique and extremely creative completely independent from their influences. I love this album due to the fact that it seems like a snapshots of moments in a story. In some ways it may not seem cohesive, however, it is important to realise that their can be immense beauty in the simplicity of a moment. ... read more
She TV Girl on my George Clanton till i Fauxllennium everywhere.
A really interesting album which incapsulates dean's most charming and well presented works.
A really cool indie rock album which both displays Joanne's amazingly unique and soothing vocal delivery with dean's constantly interesting and satisfying guitar work and choreography across the record. Sometimes ideas could be developed more and the album can sound a little cold at times but overall, a decent effort.
Will probably have to go back and revisit but it was quite disappointing compared to the singles.
Beautiful.
I stumbled onto this George Clanton album just by coincidence on spotify and I really liked the cover. This album is honestly such an amazing depiction of falling in love, having fun, summer and so many things that are just serene.
This album is a masterpiece beyond description. It's unlike any other album i've ever listened to. So many fusions of genres and beautiful moments that each song holds up as an individual piece of art in each aspect. The opening track 'Everything In its Right Place' perfectly sums up how I feel about this album. Everything is so masterfully organised and measured. The only track I don't think should have made the album is the title track 'Kid A' which, although interesting is just not a full ... read more
Ok it's overrated but damn.
The album can't really be knocked that much apart. I feel like it's musically perfect. Some songs just don't give me any emotion. I think that perhaps it suffers from the fact that every track is such a masterpiece and so grandiose that it can feel a little performative. I still think it's a great album though with amazing songs.
A decent project overall. However, in this case Tony Seltzer’s instrumentals over shadow the album massively. The experimental and innovative production is just so good. Mike’s rapping just doesn’t really add anything to the project at all though. I think that the features are ok at best. It’s alright but a lot of wasted good material.
This is unlike anything i’ve ever heard before.
This is my first Yard Act record and, I have to say I really didn’t expect this sound. The combination of post-punk fusions and spoken word is extremely interesting. I love the lead singers harsh British vocals. The opening three songs are simply perfect. The opening track is a witty and simply fun banger as well as the second track. The third track has amazing story telling which makes me feel like i’m listening to an ... read more
This new MP record feels conflicted. The duality of the beautiful shoegaze guitar harmony based songs and the more aggresive punk rock tracks doesn't work as well as it could of. However, I think that this record as a whole is incredibly solid and holds some very thoughtful and emotional moments.
This album is so sweet and relaxing.
This newest release from Faye Webster is a floaty and soothing soft rock effort. This album is so frustrating to review as I really thought that we were going to see Faye’s masterpiece come out that we were leading up to with previous releases. This album feels like it just fell short of being really good. This is for several reasons : firstly, why is the first track so long for no reason? She just repeats the chorus for three whole minutes for no ... read more
