Definitely adds to the album and includes some great songs

The Last Dinner Party - Prelude to Ecstasy

This album is beautiful and engaging. The songs run on nicely however I just think it over stays it’s welcome a little with the last two tracks.

The Smile - Wall of Eyes

Thom Yorke when he's happy be like.

Boy am I late to this album. Well, given that this is my first formal listen and review of 2024 I will be late to plenty of albums this year. I had little to no expectations for this album apart from Radiohead's permanently high standard. So not much to live up to. Despite this I thought that 'wall of eyes' was going to be a fun little side project and nothing more; however I really think this album is great. I've given it about three listens so far and It ... read more

This is what experimental music is all about

This album is so ridiculous and so fun at the sam time. I love the sense of self awareness that surrounds this album and gives it such a good sound. It is amazing sonically and such an enjoyable listen

Sufjan Stevens - Javelin

HERE ME OUT

Ok the message of this album is beautiful
I respect Sufjan as an artist and can objectively see this album being the masterpiece that so many think that it is.
However this album is another case of how if felt towards Phoebe Bridgers.
This album (aside from "Goodbye Evergreen" and the first few opening tracks) makes me feel numb.
It just doesn't do it for me. As much as I want to love and enjoy this album as much as others I just can't and that's ok.

I feel like a lot ... read more

(A prerequisite to this review is that I know very little about this band)

Coming into this project I had a lot of excitement as I remember walking into Rough Trade and seeing this on the 'best new music' wall. The album cover itself is so compelling, unique and interesting in itself. The ethereal feeling of the cloudy yellow background and the mysterious spiky figure in front with its illuminated teeth leaves so many questions to be asked.

On the subject of the music itself I feel like this ... read more

This album was a lush and interesting experience which I thoroughly enjoyed.

MIKE, Wiki & The Alchemist - Faith Is a Rock
72

This is my first MIKE/Wiki project ever. To be honest I am really not surprised at all with anything that I am about to say as very strangely the album has met my expectations in every way. In terms of rapping MIKE's performance is brilliant. I love is tone, flow and bars which all fit this project amazingly and help create the aesthetic of this project. He is very comparable to Earl Sweatshirt in terms of style but very different in content. Wiki on the other hand was average to below average ... read more

Young Thug - BUSINESS IS BUSINESS

This album is just so fun. Some weak songs but so many bangers that just hit. Thug really popped off with this one.

*loud noise*

This is my first ever noise rock album and I was very interested by this album. I am happy to say that this album exceeded my non existent expectations for a noise rock album and I thoroughly enjoyed this. There are bangers such as 'mosquito' and 'maria' which hit hard with rhythm guitars, extra noises, thumping drums and some great sassy vocals. I do however sometimes feel like these type of songs on the album can become a little repetitive. Luckily though there is some variation ... read more

Black Country, New Road - Ants From Up There

This album feels like a warm hug.

I was listening to this album on the train to Norfolk today and it fit the setting so perfectly. This album is so beautiful it makes you appreciate life and the little moments in it. I think that this might become one of my favourite albums for me.

"This has to be a joke. This man is talking about the 'intellectual capacity' someone has to have in order to understand a hiphop album and yet can't even use basic grammar. Go read a book because your evidently either eleven years old or completely braindead."

"I respect your opinion but I guess you just don't get it, this album is an amazing work of art. Every 'noise' as you would call it is there for a reason, creating a certain atmosphere and sounds tonically that are brilliant and so clever."
