Robert Smith has a timeless quality to his voice that convinces me he's still in his prime 😩

I listened to the majority of the Cure's discography before this album released and I now genuinely believe this rivals Disintegration for their best album. It's a no-filler depression fest and features some of the best soundscapes the Cure have produced since Bloodflowers. My only real gripe is that the mixing can be a bit odd in places. 9/10

An underrated project from My Bloody Valentine. In my opinion it's just as essential as their other 2 full length albums. I love it's otherworldly and blinding sound. I think the airy vocals that sound like they were recorded from the floor below are amazing. Some people say this is the beta version of loveless, but that would be dismissing this albums own merit. I might be jumping the gun a bit, but if Julie go on to make bigger and better things, I reckon this will be looked at as an underappreciated gem. 75/100 is not indiciative of its consistency and unique charm. On top of that, it goes hard traveling 70mph down a country lane at night and that's what matters to me. 9/10
