This songs makes me want to drink and never be okay again
IT'S NEVER OVER!!! :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
I was listening to my liked songs on shuffle in the shower.
Suddenly have to take a MASSIVE dump.
So I get out and I'm soggy and miserable. Then Michael Gira's anguished moans start blasting from my speaker.
I can now see why they called it a soundtrack.

Great song writing, Amazing musicianship, BUT that producer should be fired

This is what my dreams feel like lol.
This record was crazy. I don't have a lot of notes on individual tracks, but I will start off with what I do have to say. Lonely Woman might be the best song I've gone over so far. I like the dark atmosphere on this track, and the wailing horns. The bass on Eventually is the most standout bass performance that I've gone over so far in this series. From Peace on to ... read more

Ok I don't know what my problem with that last record was but I got this album. I really liked the opener Blue Rondo A La Turk. The album plays around with rhythm a lot (being the main theme of this record) and this opener introduces it really well with that strange 9/8 rhythm. I liked how the rhythm switched up and played between the two rhythms for a bit. I liked the solos on this track; particularly ... read more

I feel like I don't fully get jazz yet. This album had a lot of moments that were in one ear and out the other, but it's very acclaimed even being put into The Library of Congress. So maybe in some years after I've listened to more jazz and to this record more I could get it or have an actual understanding of why I don't get this album.

This album is so front loaded, like it feels like I'm listening to a different album after "Carry On". "It Gets Better" and "One Foot" are soooo bad. "Why Am I the One" is good, but not on the level of quality of the first four tracks. "Stars" is a good closer. This is truly proto AJR.

This is an album that I have a harder time reviewing because I don't fully understand bossa nova, but it still was good. There aren't any songs on here that I don't like but there are a lot that just don't stick out. Despite losing context to a lot of songs because I don't know Portuguese I liked the lyrics on this album. I liked the interesting they were and the song ideas on here were also pretty ... read more
I feel like this and Certified Lover Boy's titles would fit more if they were switched.
Overall this project for the most part is just kinda nice sounding songs that go in one ear and out the other, and yes a lot of drake records end up similar to this, but they are a LOT longer than this project. There is stuff that I like though, Texts Go Green and the last three tracks are fun and are the best executions of what this album is going for and Jimmy Cooks changes the pace up at the end in a ... read more

I don't have as much to say about individual tracks for this record as I did the last one, as I'm not that familiar with what is being covered here, but I do have a lot to say about the performances which is more important to a project like this anyway. Ella and Louis have very good vocal chemistry on this project which is really what makes this album enjoyable. Ella in particular is just an amazing ... read more

I was worried when starting this that I would struggle with the 50's a lot due to me not knowing that much about jazz, but I was able to really enjoy this record and have understanding why. I like how sparse this record is, it adds to the eerie feel of this album. The horns sound great as well they make up a lot of the character of this album, particularly on Reincarnation of a Lovebird. The opening ... read more

Good bars, solid production, I mean this thing is a three track ep so there's not too much to expect
This album is just great plain and simple

Ruined a really good album by removing pretty much everything that made it great
Favorite Tracks: None, the best thing this album does is be tolerable
