yall neeed to remember last time LCD Soundsystem made music THIS good, Obama was still US president. Plus he brings more of a club (and even industrial) edge to the production on this album compared to Sound of Silver or This is Happening.
No complaints (exept i destroy disco was kinda mid) this album is fire.
The beatles discovered Psych rock 1 year before everyone else did. It leads to them releasing some of their most genre fusing, productionally avant garde, and compositionally ambitios album up to this point, and until the next album out-does it a year later.
The opening theme is too 60s cheese in the ways that havent aged as gracefully, but the rest of the album is alot more musically complex than expected as "the first corporate label creation to copy the beatles". Call it, standing on the shoulders of greats, but i'd say it even outbests some of the pre-rubber soul beatles albums.
The whole album is great, with some of the best dark moody jazz with beautiful sang poetry. However, the first song just does not fit and is so much worst in performance compared to the rest of the album, faked me out into thinking the whole album would be as bad until Four Women started.
Some of the most beautiful melodies and harmonies ive ever heard, and with some of the best production ive heard in a 60s record.
